I went in this restaurant which is located on Maiden Avenue next to Andrew's Ties in the financial district. Absolutely terrible. The service sucked: the people inside made me feel like the only thing they wanted to do was taken my money and food and leave. They rushed me through my order, and at one point one of the servers actually took my tray from a girl who I could barely understand and started to attempt to put something in there just to get me out. The food itself was mediocre at most: the hole in the wall Punjabi place on E. Houston and Orchard Streets was even better, and that's not a place you'd go to for superb South Asian food. It was also quite expensive in comparison to what you can get at other places: tiny portions, all clumped together. What I found most sad was that they had free water put out but still gave me a bottle to charge me for. Overall, I'd say save your time and don't even bother. I will never go back and I will badmouth this place to anyone and everyone I know.

Very good Indian food at a great price. For a "hole-in-the-wall" kinda place, you can't beat it. The food was great and the price was right!

Diwan-E-Khaas is definitely one of my favorite lunch spots. They have a good selection, the service is fast, and the food is great considering the very reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend it.

We LOVE this place. We highly recommend the Aloo Paratha, Bangan Bartha, Dal Makhani, Palak Paneer, and the Naan. It's great to sit upstairs during the lunch hour, and even if there's a line at the counter, it moves quickly. The food is delicious and you get a good portion for your money. We even order from Diwan-E-Khaas for dinner and it's always speedy and tasty. In fact, we're waiting for a delivery right now!! We would go there everyday if we could. We like it THAT much.

Ordered some samosas and chicken tikka masala. The delivery came quickly and prices were fine. However the samosas were dry and the chicken tikka was not good. The chicken was flabby and flaked like fish and the tikka masala sauce was thin and tasteless.

I got a veggie lunchbox and got to pick two curries - so I chose malai kofta and dal. The malai kofta was not very good at all....it was floating in a gravy that was even also unappetizing....tasteless and loaded with oil. The dal was also subpar....all watery and tasteless.

Hey what can be said. It's good food. IT'S CHEAP wicked cheap. It's not oily. It's good quality and it's quick. What more could you ask?
