    Addictive

I'm seriously addicted to the chicken vindaloo - its the most flavorful thing I can find to eat in the financial district by far, and the slow-cooked chicken falls apart with a mere touch of my naan, as it should. The chick peas and lentils and other veggie dishes are delicious as well. I don't understand how people can complain about the sauce being watery - thats not water people, thats flavor - don't you realize how hard it is to get a sauce like that. Use your naan to scoop it up, its not that hard. Also, the staff has never been anything other than pleasant and friendly. I'm going to go there right now.

    Food I love to eat!

Diwanekhaas is really a very modest restaurant for these times. They serve fresh (Not frozen and Quick microvaved), (No preservatives) food at fast food prices and I was amazed the other day when I went there later then my usual lunch time and I was served A la Carte Style food pan heated just for me. Well how many of us have this luxury in own homes leave aside this so called fast food stand by joint. I think this place has delicious good food at low prices. What I don’t like here is they no longer make those chicken rolls.

I m working in downtown for almost 5 year Diwan-E-Khaas is my standard place normally i do not have time to write review but my co-worker told me it's rated bad when we wanted to place our annual party order hey guys why don't you try other places n than review it i have tired every indian resturant in downtown as i like to try everything n finally i have made this as my standard first if you ask too much quantity you lose quality over here you get homemade quality and good quantity with afforable rate who give us such luch box Service is good too normally i call 4 delivery n they are there at expected time guys you can go for cheap food n create health issue n pay more for insurance or get cheated with quantity Over here they serve you best I guess this place is almost like 8-9 yrs in business n there has to be reason behind it so think n try other placesbefore you write

    Kaam Chalau - Below Average

The food at this place has the Indian touch, but does not taste really good. Agreed, the price they offer is good for that area. The owner keeps yelling at people to be fast as there are more customers to attend (Read: More money to make). The quality of food is very very average. I did not like the taste of even 1 vegetarian dish. In Non Veggies, only Chicken Tikka Masala was good. I mean you'd get much much better indian restaurants if you google a little more. Fine, it serves so called Indian food and prices are pocket friendly but you'd only want to eat there when there is no other option. So, as per me it is a kaam chalau jugaad i.e. a Compromise and nothing else. I wouldn't ever go there to eat on it's taste...

    Probably not again...

Disclaimer: I love Indian Food and almost any Indian restaurant, of any variety, I have tried from NJ up to Maine. There are tons of wonderful Indian restaurants in NJ/NY/Boston. I wouldn't expect this to be one, its a hole in a wall meant for lunch for people like myself who work in the financial district. That said, the cafeteria in my building makes better Indian food. Is it cheap? Yes, doubly so for the area. Is it edible? No. Even for lunch grade food, its pretty subpar. As a previous review mentioned, all the sauces are just ridiculously watery. The meat cuts are below par. Some of the veggie dishes are ok - relatively speaking. As much as I want Indian Food right now and as convenient as this is, I just can't bring myself to try it one more time (3 strikes, you're out).
