I went to Divino's with a group of other families and we had a set menu at a fixed price. Firstly, the restaurant was way too crowded, we were sitting almost on top of each other. We got one piece of appitizer. each from the different plates. (4 in total) and we had to ask for bread a few time as there was so many of us at the table. We did not have any one waiter/waitress assigned to our table, they were all over the place. It looked like there was no one in charge. The entree was plainly presented nothing special, siimilar to what you would present at home, if you prepared dinner.The dessert was to beg for... We got two plates of butter cookies and two or three pastries on each. We were charged over 18% tip which is the norm in NYC as I had more than 6 at my table. If you want good service and good food and of course like dessert don't plan your dining experience at Divino's on 2nd Avenue.

The food was microwaved and overpriced. The decor was straight from a church assembly hall and the seats at Hylands Diner are more comfortable. When pinot was ordered the waiter made sure to know which one (noir or grigio) but brought the wrong one anyway. The avocado and chick peas were the "highlights" of the meal but they needed little preparation, how hard is it to peel and slice an avocado? Not very, that's why it tasted good. A trip to the grocery store to buy Lean Cuisine ravioli, mozzarella cheese, and chick peas is better than eating at Divino and will cost you about $50 less.

I went there for the first time tonight. My husband is quite knowledgeable about good quality food, especially having spent time in Europe. The food quality was supreme, and we both enjoyed thoroughly it. We shared an appetizer of artichoke with mustard sauce. My husband said it was the best artichoke he ever had, and thought the mustard sauce was a nice accent. His filet of sole was tasty and incredibly tender. My seafood cassarole was delicious, with a nice assortment of fish. The free extras included bread, very tasty seasoned chick peas, and the most flavorful bread sticks I had ever had. I made a mistake when the dessert came. After one taste, I went to the lavatory (not because of the dessert.) When I got back, almost all of the ricotta cheesecake with lemon cream was gone. I thought it was safe since hubby doesn't care for cheesecake, but this one was so good even he loved it. The complemintary shortbread cookies were melt-in-your-mouth yummy. Everything we had was outstanding. We look forward to returning

The live music at this place made me want to stay forever, because the musicians were so good, and so friendly. The ambiance is warm and homey, perfect for the cold weather. I started off with a half order of tortellini panna with ham, and I knew I was in for a treat because the rich aroma of the dish smelled so appetizing! The panna sauce was perfectly creamy without being overdone. Next I had an tenderized, sliced and fried veal chop, which was just how you want a fried veal chop: good tasting, tender, and just the right kind of crispy. I shared a mixed fruit sorbet which had little frozen blueberries, and was a lovely ending to the meal.

We asked about the artichoke nad how it was stuffed. The waiter said it was stuffed with artichoke.?? He didn't even understand what he was saying. The food was plain and bland. I have had better out of a can. There was no one there yet we had to hunt down our waiter just to get the check. Do yourself a favor and leave this one off you list.

They have new owners now, their food is still good though. Used to love it more. I love the veggie ravioli and the spinach linguenie w/ pesto sauce. I'd eat there all the time if I could. Its just a lil hotter then it used to be. The waiters are hot for the most part too.
