    Total disagreement

I have to disagree with the posters that give horrible reviews. I have ordered from dirty bird numerous times and not once have I gotten dry chicken. The service is always good. I will agree that the cornbread recipe needs to change. Btw, best cornbread is at Hill Country...

    Where's the chicken

I ordered a two-piece and got it home it was a small leg and small back?actually not even sure what the piece was. Had to take it back - for $6.00 - it's just not worth it. Order white - the breast is decent size. The greasy cornbread is also a turn off.

    Dry Bird, not Dirty Bird

I've bought take-out here at least a dozen times in the last 6 months. Last night was the 4th time I came home with a half DRY chicken and 2 sides for $16.27. I tossed at least half of the meat because it was like eating rawhide, after I requested "juicy" to the owner, as I always do, and he always waits on me. It is clear now that the owner wants to get rid of the old DRY birds to take-out customers. Mind you, there's only 6-8 seats, if that. I understand you risk getting ripped off with take-out in Manhattan, but 4 out of 12 birds that are dry is a poor average, and for a loyal customer

First Try: Pretty Darn Good. Skip the cornbread

I've been hearing about Dirty Bird for years and just tried it for the first time. It's some of the best-tasting chicken i've ever had. The mashed potatoes were workable but no one should ever get the cornbread which is accurately described as tasteless, greasy bricks. Ew.

Love the food but not a good value

As stated previously the portions can be very, very small. And the prices aren't cheap -- ordering enough food to be satisfied can really add up. Having said that, I've always found the food to be excellent, fresh and tasty. The chopped salad is amazing -- it has tomatillos, which give it a bit of bite -- chicken is tasty (but so very, very small). Love the cole slaw, mac-n-chz. If it prices were lower or portions MUCH bigger I'd give it 5's all around.

    RR

RR=Royal Ripoff Rotisserie birds are small and underseasoned. Fried chicken is tasteless. Cole slaw tastes like it's been sitting in the refrigerator for two weeks. I'd return only for the smashed potatoes, they are heavenly and consistent. 30-minute delivery took 60-minutes, food was cold, and whole rotisserie bird so dry I tossed the legs and wings. I've carried out my food as well as delivery, both failed. Three times are you're out.
