We order from here frequently. On a weekday between 1 and 6 PM, you can get fresh, properly cooked wholesome chicken. But on Sundays, as I learned AGAIN, just now you often get small, what seems likes old, overcooked, and burned fried chicken. Truly horrible, considering how good Dirty Bird can be. We just got a four piece fried chicken and paid for an extra breast. What we go was one over cooked breast, one small burnt thigh and two tiny burned brown wings. It seemed like yesterdays chicken, thrown back in the fryer. Not Cool Dirty Bird! Not Cool At All. Be consistent. And Respect Your Customers.

I don't really understand the negative reviews on here. I order Dirty Bird fried chicken for delivery at least once a week and would order it more often if I weren't concerned about calories, cholesteral and so forth. The pieces are small, so it is not really such great value, but this crunchy, tasty fried chicken never fails to satisfy me. Several of their sides -- such as the tasty (somewhat healthy) garlic kale, rocking smashed potatoes, and a sublime mac'n'cheese that is among the best I have ever had -- also make this my #1 "go to" joint for delivery. Delivery usually runs smoothly, with efficient phone staff and correct orders being delivered by pleasant guys within 15 or 20 minutes. Hmmm, wouldn't mind some right now!

the chicken is way over rated. needs more seasoning. good crunch though.

This is the only place I know of in NYC that serves Certified Humane fried chicken, and therefore the only place I buy it. Fortunately it happens to be moist and delicious too. The reviews that complain about the value at Dirty Bird bother me. So many people think chicken (and everything else we eat) should be cheap cheap cheap and never ask themselves what goes into cheap food. The answers: tax payer money, animal cruelty, genetic manipulation, fossil fuels...

so after reading a slew of great reviews about this place, i finally decided to try for myself. while the food came fast and is moderately priced, i was pretty disappointed. considering i'm not a food snob and i love POPEYES, i expected a little better. now, i'm no expert at fried chicken, but when it got to me, it was dark brown, borderline burnt (actually the skin underneath the crust was blackened at some areas). not good. i started eating it and found it rather under-seasoned, with a slightly burnt taste from over frying otherwise no particular flavor to it. you could not taste the oil it was fried in, which i guess can be argued good or bad. the chicken was great quality and juicy i have to say though. pretty bad food considering i would pick popeyes over this any day. not only that, but i ordered the 3 piece meal and they gave me 1 breast and 3 small wings. i guess they were hoping the 3 small wings would compensate for 2 bigger cuts. not well played dirty bird. not well played at all.

This is healthy chicken at its best. Free to roam, antibiotic free awesomeness. What's not to like?! Mac & cheese is the best side & even though I don't like brussel sprouts they're sooo good. Highly recommend.

Ordered for office Christmas party, delivery on time, excellent value. The fried chicken and cole slaw good. Have to believe that it's polenta and not cornbread, which makes it acceptable.
