    downhill

uninteresting menu - actually no physical menu was even handed to us. the waitress wrote it down in bullet points on the paper covering the table. that makes the whole deciding what to eat non-meditative, especially if you like language, description, considering options... and burnt fries? what is going on, diner? I remember when it was a nice place. and get some mussels - it's december!

    Great food even better price!

We just love diner! Te staff is frendly the place is just so cute and the food is really good. Of course there are better places of there but not for that money! Entree are Around 20$, good portion of seasonal food cooked well and sometime (yes, usually it is on the simple side) in inventive way! The only con... The Chef should stick on cookin meet since all the fish we ate there was not that great (heavy!).

    Last Time Eating Here

DINER used to be delicious. Last night I was very excited to dine there and get a burger in spirit of Memorial Day. Not only were they out of many beers, but the beer bottle my sister received was chipped. I started with the nettle soup which was barely edible with the amount of salt they used. My french fries were burnt badly and my burger was served well-done when I ordered it medium rare. The only edible part of the meal was the chocolate cake which was delicious and worth the $8.

    I love Diner

This place is a find. The location is an experience in itself. The service is casual and nice. The atmosphere fantastic. I had two dinners and a lunch there. I always liked the food a lot. I highly recommend it.

    What happened to Diner?

I cannot express how incredibly disappointed we were when we went there for dinner tonight, for the last time. The menu itself was merely OK and somewhat contrived. More importantly, the FOOD was not good. I ordered chicken cacciatore which was literally ONE chicken leg with a piece of grilled bread with a few random mushroom and tomato pieces. It probably cost them under $1 and the price was $18. My partner ordered a pulled pork special that he had to send back. ALL of the food was INCREDIBLY SALTY and barely edible. The portions were also really small. I was just shocked, as I used to really enjoy going there. I will never, ever go back. I don't care how trendy it is or isn't, the food is subpar and very disappointing.

Diner dinner; nothing less nothing more

We were so excited to finally make it to dinner at Diner since we heard and read great things of it, but that’s –to our disappointment- where the greatness ends. Possibly the momentum of the restaurant is a thing of a past or perhaps we came in on one of those pesky “off nights”. We stared of with a cheeseburger and duck salad and planned on a steak as a main event. Burger which was dubbed “best burger” by some was mediocre; it was smaller than expected (and seen of tv), but cooked nicely with crispy fries (best part of the meal) though the kitchen hasn’t even bother to melt the cheese. Duck salad wasn’t better; soggy of dressing with duck sliced to thinly you had to look for it to make sure it was even there and finished with a mother of all salad clichés of the 90’s… a fried egg. We were quick to decide right there and than to have steak -we were looking forward to- another time and at another place. Additionally it would be lovely to receive a menu vs. having servers recite all the “specials” (basically full menu for the evening); by the end you barely remember the ones that were mentioned at the beginning with a convenience of omitting all prices. Over all my experience at Diner was what the name of the restaurant stands for… a diner dinner; nothing less nothing more.

    REALLY disappointed!

I have been going to Diner for at least the last 6 years. I have always loved the food. My favorite was the burger and those great fries. I went there last week and something has gone wrong! The fries were not the fries they usually serve...they were undercooked and under seasoned. The burger was on some discount store roll. I sent the fries back to be cooked some more but the flavor was just not there like it used to be.
