Better than take out
Yes, it is delicious indian food, as good as any I have had in London or San Francisco. Yes, the service is fantastic with a wait staff that is highly attentive and were very respectful in helping my girlfriend through the somewhat confusing menu. Yes, the room has a bit of magic to it. Yes, there is an ample and tasty wine list. No, they do not have a second door or curtain blocking a very cold draft whenever someone went in or out. No, the portions are not filling. ($12 for two shrimp) No, the chicken does not melt in your mouth. No, it is not 5x as good as take out (but it does cost 5x as much as take out).

Magic in the air
This place is truly extaordinary on all levels. The energy in the room is fantastic. The food is sublime. Lamb chops are almost buttery in their perfect grilling and wine list is affordable and respectable with dependable options like Stag's Leap or Arcacia. Desserts? Fantabulous! I feel like this place is on the verge of bigtime (translation: the only reservation left will be Sunday night at 11PM!) so I've gone three times since it's opened. It never fails to blow my mind. The service and ambiance is amazing. You feel like you're in a jewelry box being catered to by magical bearers of jewel-like gifts (phool makame!) It truly is a magical experience.

A new meaning to the word perfect
My girlfriend and I went to this wonderful new restaurant during its second week on our engagement night. The atmosphere and service was simply superb. And the food was absolutely divine. We both ordered tasting menus (a bargain for what you get) and were totally blown away at each of the 7 courses. They were all so perfect in flavor and presentation. And who knew that Indian restaurants baked some of the best cakes in the world. Don't miss the dessert! Pineapple cake is awesome.
