my boyfriend and i go here anytime we're looking for a nice, romantic, and cozy dinner. very quaint restaurant with excellent service, delicious french martinis, and lovely ambience! definitely our favorite date restuarant!

We had a wonderful meal here for my daughter's Christening back in Sept. and the service was great. There were 8 of us and we got great treatment. And the food was fabulous. But we went back on Saturday for my daughter's first birthday and although the food was once again fantastic the service was nothing short of appalling. Not once did our waitress check in on us and we ordered a cheese plate appetizer that never came. Then we had to wait 30 minutes to get our bill which of course included a 20% tip even though there were only 5 adults (there were 2 babies which made our party 7, but give me a break!). Disappointing as we had such a good first experience. I couldn't enjoy myself because we were always waiting for something to arrive. So if you want great French food and don't care about service, this is your place.

You won't be disappointed at Deux Amis. it's small and intimate and always attracts the most discriminating of New Yorkers

We live accross the street and had tried it when it just opened. At that time I guess they were still trying to get their act together and they were a bit overwhelmed, service was hectic and they had run out of many of the items on the menu. We always meant to give it a second try but somehow never did until a couple of nights ago. I am happy to say things seem to have changed. The room is somehow much warmer, service was good and so was the food. It was quite noisy but once a loud table of six left, it was easier to carry on a conversation. We had a very pleasant dinner and now that we re-discovered it, plan to return often.

This is my favorite place for french food outside of France. I highly recommend this bistro.

A sophisticated--but unprententious--east midtown spot where the clientele is well-heeled & high-heeled and the owner and his staff warm and friendly. No one goes just once. Don't miss the chocolate souffle.

I live across the street from this restaruant and go there often. The food and service, I find to be excellent each time. I have to say it's one of the best restaurants in the area.
