I'm disappointed with this restaurant. The entree was small and tasteless, and the dessert burned. I think this restaurant is overpriced for the quality of the food.

Though it looks like a little neighborhood French bistro, the servers are about as French as a fast food chain. They were blaring Julio Iglesias music all evening (not very French) and wouldn't turn it down. The phone ringer was set on high, it took a long time for anyone to answer it, and it had audible caller ID on, so we could all hear the machine announcing who was calling. Finally, the food is only average.

My husband and I celebrated his birthday with a dinner at Deux Amis in Manhattan. The service was friendly and not intrusive during the dining experience. The food was amazing, the mussels in saffron sauce (appetizer) was plentiful and seasoned to perfection. The duck (main course) was moist and rich in flavor. The dessert was profiterole that capped a perfect birthday celebration. The owner, Bucky, is welcoming and the decor is like a quick trip to Paris.

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. The service was ok but the food was not good at all. I ordered the escargot and there were shells in it and the flavor was off. I also ordered the lamb which was decent but the portion was miniscule. My girlfriend told me at dinner that her chicken tasted like it came out of a can. I will never go back to this place.

We had something called "couscous" which isn't that at all. We ordered a chicken couscous and what we got was a fried chicken cutlet on top of vegetables and grain couscous. Couscous has supposed to have the meat cooked with the sauce and vegetables and NOT a fried chicken steak on top of if. Very poor idea to sell something as couscous when it isn't. Never ever will we go back and they should change their recipe and not sell it as something it isn't.

I am SO glad that we found this restaurant! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was cozy and the young, French girl that waited on us was fabulous! I personally had the hanger steak and chocolate souffle, and I would recommend it highly if that could be to your liking. The steak was tender, done perfectly and the mushroom rosemary sauce complimented it nicely. I will recommend this restaurant to people I know and would not hesitate to come back again.
