Frozen filet?! Poor service
The filet was clearly frozen. The lamb was overcooked. We ordered both medium rare and got one raw and cold and one dry and burned. Unfortunately, have been here before and had a good experience, seems like they are going downhill.

Best Valentine Dinner
My GF and two others dined here before heading to a Manhattan play. The food/wine/atmosphere was so good we wanted to stay longer had it not been for the play. This was a third visit and each was a "5"..Highly recommend!

Amazing Service!
Words cannot describe how great the service is at this place. My girlfriend and I were there for dinner on New Years eve. As soon as we walked in we were treated like family. This was the type of service you rarely find at other restaurants. The wine selection and appetizers (mozarella and asparagus) were great as were the steaks. I will definitely be back!

A steakhouse with flair
Ate here for the first time this past week, and couldn't be happier. The three appetizers we tried were amazing, crab cakes, short rib rolls and roasted asparagus wrapped in bacon. Even the amuse bouche, prune with nuts, also wrapped in bacon were superb. Lamb chops were excellent and the porterhouse and rib eyesteaks compare favorably to Luger's and Benson's, where we usually go for for steak. Try the panna cotta and cheesecake for dessert. Both are among the best we have had. DeStefano's excels at hospitality and service, and the ambience is friendly and homey without being cloying or obseqious. The price is not inexpensive, expecially for Brooklyn, but given the quality and preparation of the food it is a pretty good value for the money. All in all, a winner and definitely worth a return visit.

The little things make a difference!
We came here for my boyfriend's birthday celebration and were delighted to find a semi-hidden treasure. The owner greeted us and conversed with us as we were dining (just the right amount), and the service was outstanding throughout. The staff was genuine and friendly the lamb chops tender & succulent the rib eye nicely seasoned and yummy! The atmosphere is warm and almost transports you back to a simpler time. You won't find a jet-setting crowd here and you'll like it that way. If you think it's a hassle to go all the way to Brooklyn just for steak, let me assure you that it's worth the (not too far) trip. The restaurant is close to the train and easy to find toodefinitely check it out!!!

A Must Go!
Joe and his staff do a fantastic job with both preparation and presentation. It is, without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in Brooklyn. The steak is so tender, steak knives are not needed. The appetizers are all a blend of traditional steakhouse fare and italian staples. You must try the beet salad and the mozzarella crustini - best I've had in the city. DeStefano's is, is without a doubt, a gem. We look forward to dining there many more times.
