Eat Fish
Went to Dervish last night without reservations and lucked out and got a table right away. Lively atmosphere and excellent service. We had the grilled sardines, Grilled Octopus salad. thanks to menupages.com poster who said they would eat Fish it is so good), grilled whole fish All was fresh, delicious, lite fare. We also had a lovely red wine(Turkish) that was our server's favorite. Strongly suggest ordering fish.

Excellent food, great atmosphere
I was celebrating my birthday at Dervish. We found this restaurnt on the menupages.com. this is really great restaurant with a great food and great service. They known for their fish, so we tried the fish and it was the best fish I ever had. Also as an appetizer we tried grilled Octopus, it was wonderful and fresh. All food was very fresh and tasty. I really recommend this restaurnt for a date or for a small group of people. I will defintely come back again and again to this place.

Excellent choice!
Went to the Dervish prior to a Wed. Matinee last week and was pleasantly surprised. Food was terrific and the wait staff very attentive. Best Turkish food I have had outside of Istanbul! Will definetly go back there again.

Great Service. Good Food.
We went last night, had a group of eight, and were treated so well. The waiter was extremely patient with our rowdy crew, and made some very good wine recommendations. The food was good overall, with the Muska Borek appetizer and the calamari being the best of what was ordered at our table. The tables were a bit close together, but the atmosphere was fun. Will definitely go again.

Great Food and Value
Have been 3 times now and can't wait to go back again. Great food, good value (especially the house wine in the Angora) and upbeat atmosphere. Best Turkish restuarant in the city!!

Great Turks
I have been there many times, and I always enjoy it. Most recently I took three friends who had just flown in to town. All were terribly hungry and wanted nothing more than a relaxing dinner minus the over-priced NYC aesthetic. In short, we just wanted good food, lots of it, and a spot to catch up with eachother. I immediately prescribed a trip to this neighborhood joint, Dervish. My guests wanted unpretentious dining, and upon hearing the name of the restaurant they were sold. The waitstaff is attentive and pleasant, and the atmosphere very subdued. We sat at a nice window table and enjoyed delicious food (mainly red meats), good drink, and endless laughs for almost 2 1/2 hours. Everything is very reasonably priced, so even after our extended stay our check was remarkably easy on our wallets. We were in quite a pleasant mood when we finally stumbled out into the cold. My advice is as follows: If you're hungry and all you want is simple, solid, delcious food, give Dervish a try.
