The appetizers were great, especially their soups. Overall I liked the food. It's close to the theater district. I wouldn't recommend this place for a full meal, since service was so slow

Stumbled on Dervish on a Saturday night in the theater district. It was 5 pm and we had no reservations, but they seated us and we enjoyed the prix fix $23 for appetizer, entree and dessert. Food was bountiful and good recommend the Sultan's Chicken, juicy white meat chunks over an eggplant puree and the baklava, two small pieces that weren't too much to deal with after a large meal and weren't overly sweet. Service and atmosphere were nice, too, and the place was crowded by the time we left. Highly recommended

A bunch of friends got together for a meal and we had a great time, the food was really good, but the service was really just awful. We got water when we sat down, wanted to order wine, was handed the wine list and the waiter disappeared. took forever for him to come back. They were out of several choices (both in the wine list and the menu). Finally got our order in we ordered everything together, knowing he would disappear again and all was fine until dessert. There were 6 of us and they gave us 2 menus. Given that at this time the restaurant was fairly empty, I'm sure it wasn't because the had no more, so what's up with that? After dessert, we practically had to beg for a check, the waiter had disappeared again. Overall, I really liked the restaurant, and would go back, but seriously, that service has to change.

This restaurant was near my hotel so thought I'd check it out. I was not disappointed! The atmosphere, food, waiters were wonderful. I had the chicken kebob and the chicken was perfect - not dry. Loved the olive appetizer that was included and the flat bread. And best of all, it was very reasonably priced for NYC.

Food was sub par, overly priced, and there are much better bets out there. The ambiance is the only thing that could have saved it but the inattentive waiters ruined that
