The food wasn't as good as advertised, and the waiters are so snooty and snobbish that it makes the food even less appetizing. A disappointing experience it was considering how tempting it looks from outside. Now, I have to make my girlfriend refund the thoroughly undeserved generous tip she forced me to leave at the table.

The food is delicious at this warm, friendly and wonderful restaurant. It most certainly seems like a trip to France, filled with interesting and lively people who seem completely at home. The steak is some of the best in the city and the champagne seems to flow endlessly. I strongly recommend this place, you'll want to keep coming back!

If your expectations for a basic French bistro are a loud and lively environment, a standard but competent menu, and reasonable prices, then Demarchelier will not disappoint.

While the food was reasonably good, the ambience left much to be desired and the service was poor. The waiter's disinterest and attitude bordered on rudeness. Food (for only two people) didn't arrive at the same time and, once it did arrive, we were never asked whether everything was satisfactory or whether we wanted to order anything else. We will not ever return to this high-priced unpleasant restaurant.

Love Belgian food, and took my boyfriend out for dinner here last night. He said it was the best Steak Tartare he'd had in New York! Great food, good atmosphere, simply fabulous Pomme Frites! Wine is overpriced, but no complaints other than that.

The restaurant is an Upper East Side find. The staff is friendly, the food is good, and the atomosphere is great, especially if you sit near the bar. It almost feels like you are in Paris. Great to try.
