    Won't be going back

This is a place that thinks it's a bar, not a restaurant. First, the hostess tried to seat us at the worst table in the joint, even though the joint was nearly empty. (It wasn't just us -- she tried to do it to the next couple that came in too.) The music was loud and grating; when I asked politely whether it could be lowered, the hostess's response was dismissive and the music stayed loud. While my girlfriend liked her Asian salad, I thought the bun on my veggie burger was mushy and tasteless, the ketchup tasted too sweet and my Coke was a touch flat. No one bothered to check in with us after we were served (and it took a good while for our food to arrive), though the busboy was responsive, at least. And the waiter shoved our change at us without a word. We've had good meals here, but it's likely that this will be our final visit.

    Really going downhill

Deluxe used to be fairly consistent in being pretty good with slow service. The last two times I have eaten there it is has been nearly inedible (and the service is still painful). There are not a lot of great alternatives in the immediate vicinity, but Deluxe really is hardly worth it.

    In a slump

I used to go to Deluxe all the time, but I've been avoiding it lately. The service is friendly but infrequent. The prices seem to have gone up, and the quality of the food has definitely gone downhill.

    Annoyingly Bad Service

I've loved Deluxe since my first year at Columbia. The food is pretty tasty, it's a convenient and reasonably priced place to eat at, and it's got an old school collegiate feel to it. However, with each year, the service has gotten worse. My boyfriend and I once waited 25 minutes in the empty restaurant to be waited on. I found myself skipping over Deluxe more and more - you can get just as good a meal elsewhere, and you won't have to send up traffic flares to get a menu.

    Deluxe service has gone downhill

Been going here frequently the last couple years. Over the last year the service has deteriorated. Everyone is nice enough...if you can find them. We often sit around waiting and waiting at each step of the meal.

    How do you spell service?

Went to Deluxe for breakfast last week on Saturday morning around 10:30. It wasn't crowded. We sat inside and waited and waited for our waitress to show up to take our order. We finally flagged down a busboy to find her. When she arrived, she was very upbeat and cheerful as she took our order. The food was fine; I mean how can a kitchen screw up eggs over easy? I'd like more coffee? Where is the waitress? We looked around and finally found her having lunch and chatting with other waitstaff. Our busboy saw us looking around and brought more coffee; he didn't want to spoil our waitress's lunch. When it came time for the check, well, we had to wait until our busboy came by again so he could interuppt her lunch. Jeez. Never again.

    After class dinner

We had the Asian chicken salads and they were great. It was still happy hour so we had really good mojitos. I would go back and repeat that dinner. Service was good and we were not pressured to leave.
