A bastion of mediocrity.

This place is pretty basic -- good for a quick breakfast or lunch with a friend. or two. Their omlettes and salads are tasty and I hear the sandwiches are good too. Good portion sizes. Yeah, it's slightly overpriced, but really, what isn't these days? A nice atmosphere and right in the heart of the Columbia University neighborhood.

Stopped here after a visit to Columbia University with our teenage daughter. After a convenient walk down the street we were glad to find this cute little diner like establishment. The menu was sufficient and the service was perfect. Food was good and portions adequate. Would stop in again for sure. Great for kids.

Most of the items are quite good. I really like the meatloaf and the cobb salad. The fried calamari is really bad, so much so that I stopped eating after a couple of bites because I thought it might make me sick. Takeout is fairly fast and reliable. Overall it is a solid medium-high.

I called Deluxe last night to ask a very specific question and the woman who was on the phone kept interupting me. When she thought she had answered my question -- which hadn't really been asked yet -- she said, "Ok, thanks." and hung up the phone. This place has delicious food and the prices are quite reasonable for the UWS. The restaurant is pretty cramped, don't don't expect any privacy or room to stretch your legs. The servers are not very attentive, but that will be reflected in the tip you leave. You might have to bring your own water if you want to hydrate yourself! Also, if you go in to order food, they'll send you to the bar, where you may have to wait a long time for service and for your food. I suggest going in and sitting down to eat, just to save yourself the aggravation of a hasty phone call or a long wait at the bar. The food/price are worth a visit now and again! I recommend the grilled veggie sandwich and the quiche for vegetarians.

Deluxe is a resturaunt with excellent food, even if it takes a little while for it to come. (Especially if you are ordering in) There delivery service is poor, and its resturaunt service isn't much better. It is located in a pleasant neighborhood where citing outside can be great on a summers evening and it is never empty, meaning it always has a vibrant atmosphere. I would encourage anyone to go there.

Been to this place many times and never left hungry or disappointed. Great service.
