I have eaten here and had deliveries from here countless times. As for being forced to take service, I completely disagree. I have had it both ways, where I just sat down and had total table service and left a nice tip and where I ordered and paid at the counter and sat down at a table and they called my name when my order was ready. Either way, everyone in the restaurant is extremely attentive. The delivery guys always help get a highchair for my daughter without me asking. Ordering by phone is so easy, they have caller ID so once you order the first time, they already know who you are and your address. All in all the food is excellent, the pizza is beyond delicious and the pastas are excellent and very reasonably priced same with the entrees. The chicken parm rocks and has become a sort of Christmas Eve tradition in my house. And the salads are exactly what you want from an Italian place, including the seafood salad. I also cannot say how thrilled I was that they received an "A" from the Health Department. I would have been really disappointed with anything else. This is truly a neighborhood institution and worth a visit.

I too have been going here for years. It is my favorite pizza place and Italian restaurant in NYC. Why? Excellent food, reasonable prices, great service, and terrific value for the $. The wait staff in the dining room is great! The reviewer who said you're forced to have your pizza served to you is absolutely wrong. You can sit in the front and be served, OR you can order yourself and sit and eat. Your choice. Nothing forced about it.

Husband and I have been going to Delizia's for about 12 years. We have never been disappointed. The food is great and the service excellent. Recently had a dish called "Tilapia Setona". It was awesome. Highly recommended.

Love the food there! Excellent specials,big variety, delicious pizza! I don't agree with the previous review at all. They do not force anyone to take service. If a place has a server and you do not want to be served, simply say it.They offer service not to rip anyone off, as if a salad, slice and drink will be a "big" check anyways.. to offer SERVICE, which is really nice to have at local place like Delizia. Maybe the guy had a bad day and to stop ordering from the place and calling them snakes and the like is totally out of line.

If you want to get a slice and a salad in this place, you are getting it served to you by the waitress, you dont have a choice. Subsequentley you are supposed to tip. I didnt ask for service there, I want a slice and a salad and I want out. If they told me this I just would have taken it to go, they didnt. There's nothing worse then getting swindled, the snake behind the counter and the snake owner need a lesson. Little do they know I order from this place takeout 2-3 times a week. By the way I left the waitress a 30% tip. Lesson 1- you just lost a customer Delizia.

Love calling to order in! People are the nicest they can be on the phone here.. and.. surprise, they get your order right, it doesn't take long, and the food is great!

So I'm watching Sopranos yesterday and there's a scene where they're talking about "veal parm hero". It put it in my head that I had to have 0ne. Went to menupages looked at a various listings and for some reason selected D-92. I wasn't disappointing. The service is great. Very nice guy on the phone, they have your info on file, etc. The hero was very good. Bread was nice and soft, the meat was nice. Right amount of sauce and cheese. Well done. I will order from there again.
