Eat here if you are staying at the Waldorf Astoria
Don't pay the exhorbitant prices of the beautiful Waldorf Astoria. It is great but you can walk a couple of blocks and arrive at the Madison Deli. The staff are very welcoming - they know if you are new and step out to explain all that is on offer - which is vast. Try a Madison Special - breakfast in a bun at $2.85 - great! Seating upstairs - clean and tidy - toilets also. They were open 24 hours over New Year and had a great selection of food to take away and also some alcohol. They deserve your custom as they are so hard-working and pleasant! We didn't try their lunch-time food but we saw it all being prepared each morning and it looked lovely.

Wonderful Selection!
We make this our dinner place every time we are in NYC. There is so much of a selection to choose from both hot & cold foods along with deli sandwiches. The charge for the steam table is by the ounce. The staff are very accomodating.
