Classic diner, we prefer it!!
My family frequents this diner often. It's good food in a comfy atmosphere. I read the review of the person who had the meat loaf -- I had that meal once. That really is one unfortunate meal. But I've had a number of things there and they are out of this world. I'm crazy about their panini sandwiches and my parents cannot get enough of the chicken scampi. Recently I tried their Chicken Angelo and fell in love with it. So, to the person who had the meat loaf -- I'm sorry you wound up picking the one thing on the menu that's weak, I hope the rest of the readers don't pass this place up based on this.

not good food but large portions
I don't Think that the cooks here even know what they are doing. Do not get the roast beef sandwich. It tasted off and they served it open faced on a pita bread. Not good food at all.

Not recommended
Upon going to Del Rio Diner, I was reminiscing all the views I had received from people who've eaten there. My desire for the evening was to have meatloaf and mashed potatoes with sauteed vegetables. The meal would be completed with a nice dessert. Upon receiving my order, the plate was filled with water from the broccoli (obviously not drained). The meatloaf was wet, cold and the texture was not of real beef. It was more like dog food. The mashed potatoes were from a box! While sitting there, looking around, not once did any of the waitresses go over to any of the tables to ask if everything was good. Upon dessert, (at this time, asked myself, "would it be safe..?") I ordered rice pudding asking if it was fresh. Upon getting it, it tasted very dry. The only thing that I did have was a fresh cup of coffee which didn't come with the meal. Not worth the time, unless you don't care about quality and service.

The magic of good food, good service and good times
I have had many meals at this diner.I have always enjoyed the food and love the prices. You get family style potions with a smile. I will always remember my favorite waitress. She worked the over night shift and never seemed to have a bad mood. I would walk in and she always greeted me with a smile. She knew what I wanted most of the time and always had it ready for me. The managers treated me with freindly hello's and asked me how my day was never forgeting my name. The stuffed filet of sole or mushrooms were some of the best I ever had. I would recomend their cheesecake over even Juniors in downtown Brooklyn. It was creamy, smooth always making me wish for more. I tell all my freinds to go there and enjoy great food, great prices and great times. Always bring a freind it makes the memories that much better.
