Great meal again!
Dropped by last night, after taking the in-laws to see the tree. After having a few drinks, and three appetizers at the bar, we settled in the lounge for dinner. The drinks and the food at the bar were outstanding. But the best was yet to come. The lounge menu has been reworked a few times since the opening, and it just keeps getting better. My wife and I always have three courses, and I always let Danny pair the wines with my courses. It could not have been more heavenly. Perfect food and perfect wines to match. Oh, I forgot to tell you. The last time we were here there was a mistake on our check, which I must say was taking care of the very next day. Very nice. After having dessert, coffee and listening to the mellowing sounds of the three piece band they had last night, my in-laws thought this was one of the finest dinners they had in a very long time. My wife and I could not have agreed more. This place is first class all the way, from the moment you walk in the door. Appetizers at the bar - minuture fried rice balls with mushroom, small tuna and pork trammezzi, gnochi fritto. Have one of David's negroni's with this, the best in the city! Dinner - bread basket, all baked in house, with butter, and lardo, Beef carpaccio with mozzarella, drizzled with olive oil, gnocci, light as a cloud, with a meat sauce, steak, cooked rare with califlower puree. Too many desserts to remember. Each of these courses were paired with wines. Truly outstanding. Thanks guys for another wonderful meal, see you very soon.

Del Posto, Del Overpriced
We had dinner here a couple of weeks ago because an out-of-town guest insisted. Having read the reviews I went with low expectations and can honestly say the people writing on this website are very astute! The atmosphere and serevice were very nice, however, the food left much to be desired. Very bland small portions, very large prices. Luckily we went elsewhere for dessert (the most filling part of the evening). There are better choices in NYC for the money!!

Where is Mario?
My wife and I have eaten here many times before, both in the lounge and main dining room. Last night after drinks and a couple of appetizers at the bar, we headed for the main dining room. After ordering a bottle of wine, it was time for dinner. Two Appetizers, a mid pasta course, and two main courses. Then on to dessert and after dinner drinks. All the food was wonderful, except my wife's dinner! She sent back the pasta with crab meat, because it was to salty. Like someone in the kitchen dumped a box of salt in her plate. It was taken back after only one bite, and she did not want anything else. We thought it would be taken off the check, but when we got the bill, it was not on it, but it was added to it. We called Alfredo today to have it taken care of, but still have not gotten a call back. We dine here often, and love to see Joe and his mom stop by our table and talk. But what I want to see more today, is a credit back to my charge card for the $27.00 dollars. It is not the money, but the nerve of these guys to take it off the bill, but add it into the price of the check. Although the main dining room is nice, we tend to think the lounge area is the better place to eat. Try it sometime, and then check your bill carefully. This is the first time, that this has happened to us and hopefully it never happens again!

Great Service BUT Just OK Food
The atmosphere is great and the service was likewise - just fantastic... I just can't say the same about the food... Very salty, small portions, and just not worth it... I love eating Babbo, but I wouldn't suggest you eat at Del Posto - stop by for a few drinks, and then eat at Babbo... Mario, what's going on...? The food should be the top priority...?

Entranced and disappointed
Try it .....you will wonder why you made the effort to reach the outer limits of Manattan to get an Italian meal of excellence with something missing from the experience.

Tiny portions. U'll leave feeling hungry and wanna chow down on a pie of pizza. Go to this restaurant just to feel like ur rich. That's all.

Excellent service, food not up to par
We went here for a birthday dinner with 6 couples. The service was one of the best I have received in a very long time. They were over the top with every need and bringing out the food at the same time and filling our wine glasses. The food however, was not anywhere near what we expected. Very salty, small portions, and nothing what we expected for the prices we paid. We had the tasting menu which consisted of many different appetizers, two pasta courses and a choice of entrees. I was disappointed in the quality of food but the service and beautiful atmosphere made it a bit better.
