I'm not sure about the negative reviews as I had a very pleasant experience here on a Friday night about a month ago. The steak was absolutely amazing- tender and full of flavor. The crab cake appetizer although small, is probably the best crab cake in town. I had no problems with the service. The waitstaff was very polite and inviting. The space is big and comfortable.

This place is overrated. Don't get me wrong it's a good steak house. But, if your looking for a relaxing enjoyable evening this isn't the place. The tables are close together, it's very noisy, and the waitstaff was harried. I expect to pay top dollar at a place with a reputation as this one, but there was no value here. Ther are many other places you could go to enjoy yourself for a special evening....this isn't one of them

I used to love this place. I invited two business clients (we are also best friends) to dinner last night. My friends really enjoyed the Pineapple Martini ($15.95) The food was ok but at the end of dinner, after I paid the $390.00 bill, we were asked if everything was ok by seven different people. There were empty tables all around us but we were in the booth by the bar. It was obvious they wanted us out. It was annoying and rude. The should of just asked us to leave. I will never return. For an excellent steak dinner and fabulous service go to Ben & Jack's Steakhouse or BLT Steak.

From the moment you walk in, atmosphere seems very harried and intense - people jockeying for space - restaurant not laid out very well. Noise factor was extremely high and seemed like a lot of people were there for the bar scene. Was initially shown a strangely situated table for two along a walkway that was ridiculously close to a party of about 20 and asked to be shown another table, which we were. Waiter was smarmy and seemed annoyed that we didn't order liquor. We didn't receive much attention throughout the evening. When asked for tap water, he filled up my glass that was still a quarter full of sparkling water with the tap water instead of getting us new glasses (my husband had to tell him not to put the tap water in his glass, which was more than half full with sparkling). With the exception of my husband's steak, food was truly mediocre (salads were drowning in dressing, onion rings were bland, tuna was dry, gnocchi was inedibly salty). My husband wanted to have a great steak, and he did, but the rest of the meal, the service, and the atmosphere precludes another visit, especially in an economy where any money spent on dining out should ideally not be regrettable.

Three weeks ago, my wife and I went to this fine place. We have for appetizer Crab cake with Cajun Lobster sauce and Oyster on a half shell. The Crab Cake was delicious. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon, and I ordered the Porterhouse Steak. Those Steaks were done just the way we asked them. They melted in our mouths. We've could've cut them with a butter knife and the flavor of these meats were out site. It was so much food that we only ordered one dessert(and let me tell you, we can eat a lot). The Staff was very friendly and knowledgable. The Service was prompt. We will defenitely go again. P.S. Be very careful with the VIP Martini. Don't drink more that two, otherwise you'll be flying down the stairs.

Make a reservation! The place is packed weeknights with business dinners and weekends with tourists. A bit noisy, but we lucked out with a smaller room upstairs that made for an intimate feel. Charming waiter, fabulous menu, pleasurably paced. A throng of servers swarm the table when the eats arrive, to ensure everyone is served at once. Perfect. Order the rib-eye. Best beef in town. A bit pricey, but worth it for a date night in Manhattan.

Least recommended dining restaurant for a private party. Our group dined in the private dining room. Started off on a good note with crab cake appetizers which were tasty. But my impression of the place took a downward swing soon thereafter. The host of the party , who was making a gracious speech, was rudely interrupted by the noisy waiters who barged in with the entrees and proceeded to noisily explain the dishes and serve the sides with total disregard for the person who was still standing and stopped mid sentence in his speech. They could have easily with a bit more effort been able to do what they had to do more discreetly and quietly. Also the choice of cutlery was amusing to say the least. They gave us huge, and I mean real huge steak knives for the meat.........but what's even worse is that those who ordered the mahi-mahi were given similar steak knives too! After clearing entree plates, they made only selective clearing of crumbs from the table ... some were left affronted with lots of crumbs and others had the shine of the white table linen before them! Again the selective service was seen when it came to desserts and coffee and tea. Some got their orders, others had to wait after several reminders. Altogether, service left a lot to be desired and food was no better. Portions were huge and with the exception of the crab cake, of very mediocre taste. Not a place I would recommend for entertaining.
