Doin' allright
Was blown away by the size of the place... I really like the Kitchen design around the seating area... Nice selection of wines... Mainfocus unfortunately on french wines... had a nice cote de rhone... Service was nothing special but allright... Food was amazing... Had 3 different sausages... a little bit overprized but actually very very good... Maincourse i had the duck (great) Friends had Char (really nice) and Skate (also amazing)... To say it in a nutshell... great foood, prices allright, service exists, ambiance big and nice... Will go back

Disappointed
Visited DBGB last nite. We were happy to be seated promptly without reservations. Our waiter was a bit pompous and did not seem to care much for our questions. My friend and I are definitely demanding with our questions but very polite, as we have a genuine interest in cooking and food - nothing that should be out of the ordinary for customers at a Bouloud restaurant. The asparagus and fried egg was tasty but the portion, as other reviewers have mentioned, was extremely tiny for $13. The marrow was very good and probably one of the high points but definitely overpriced as well, though admittedly someone has good bandsaw skills. The roasted duck had a nice tender texture but the flavor was extremely lacking - could have had something better at a decent authentic Chinese restaurant. It featured a lemon glaze and bok choy but this did little to complement it. The confit was very good and the best part of the dish. My friend had the lamb and I had a piece of it and was not very impressed and especially even less so because he has been known to make better lamb himself. Unfortunately, this restaurant seems to suffer from the "pompous attitude" disease that seems to be common in mid-priced or spinoff of fine dining restaurants in NYC.

one and out
not sure what the hype is all about here. The food was average, at best. Had asparagus with fried egg and bone marrow as apps. Duo of lamb and duck breast as mains. Portions are small. Seems like a place that you pay for location and the name. Daniel Boulud's latest thrill I guess was supposed to give you an idea of his other restaurants or a new, affordable spin...unimpressive. Service was also average: had a queen of a waiter who didnt really care for the food. The best part of the meal was the bread, wow.

Things started a little rough with an hour wait (with a resi)... turns out the Chef was there so people were hanging out more than usual. We truly enjoyed the food and the service was great. The manager treated us very well and was concerned when were unhappy waiting. She was attentive and even comped a few drinks. Kudos!

Good food not service
The burgers were good, but they messed up our order big time. Our server seemed totally out of it but then she would be very "attentive" when it was time for her to ask if we wanted another round of drinks... If you can't handle the way your customers want their burgers cooked, what sides they want or even what's supposed to be in your menu, then don't sell burgers!

Poor Service, Food
We asked our server for suggestions, he up-sold everything on the menu and lead us to 3 terrible dishes. Needless to say the service was terrible. Our server left the table while taking our order, didn't return for a few minutes. He was absent for the majority of our meal except when we would stop by to hit us with a little more of his sassy attitude. Finally, the food was overpriced for what it was. I will never come back. I, along with the rest of my party, left extremely disappointed. We have already reached out to friends and family that were eager to try DBGB and discouraged them from coming.

Was alright
Had Sunday night dinner there. Been to Bar Boulud several times I had great expectations. The space is very cosy, makes you feel very comfortable. Lightning very appropriate specially at the bar area, all very well taken care of. Nice people around and the service was excellent, very helpful and with great suggestions. Unfortunately that was all: octopus was ok and really small portion and the chop chop salad with more mayo than I would like. The burger was cooked medium rare and was good- definitely not worth the $17 though. The sausage for $10 was a joke. I have to admit though that the beer selection was great, fresh and tasty. Overall $100 for beer, burger and hot dog was way too much; even if chef Boulud approved them.
