My wife and i had reservations for our last night in New York. What a great way to end the trip. Service was wonderful. I ordered the crab cake appetizer to share. Our server brought us each one and charged us for only one. Apparently he felt one would not be enough and was he right. It was remarkable. The server was also helpful recommending particular selections. We tried a bottle of the Pinot Noir that was the special that night and it was the perfect match for the food. My wife had a lobster dish and I had a steak. This was my favorite restaurant of out trip.

I've known this place and wanted to go for a long time, so I tried finally for my birthday. I've been to David Burke in Las Vegas before and liked it very much, and the experience this time was so wonderful as well. Food is delicious, and presentation is outstanding!! I had crab cake for appetizer and rib for main. You have to try the crab cake it's so different from what you expect visually and I liked the fact that they didn't use too much bell pepper to kill the crab taste. Rib was so tender, it was like butter melting in your mouth!! The only wish I had was to have less oily food...bread also was a little bit dry. Anyway I would definitely go back there again! The atmosphere is so wonderful and inviting...A GREAT place to go.

I was very excited to eat at davidburke and donatella. The restaurant has great decor and the service was impecable. I have to say there was no wow factor with the food. I expected to be Wowed. The apps were good, but was not impressed my our main courses. I thought the hamachi lacked flavor. The presentation of the food was nice. I don't think I'll be rushing back for back seconds.

I, like so many of the other reviewers, felt that the wonderful food was almost ruined by the arrogant clientelle. Not that this is the management's fault: everything within their control - the food, the service, the decor were great. The pretzle-crusted crabcake was tasty, the tuna cooked perfectly (rare on the inside, seared oustide) and a chocolate-bourbon tart divine. But if I had to spend one more minute hearing Mr. Skull-and-Bones next to be complaining how he depises having to acknowledge librarians at his "35.000 per year school" or how his teachers "conspire" agianst him because he a "true convervative," I would have lost my crabcake, tuna and tart all over his Hugo Boss shirt.

My friend and I went here a few weeks ago for the price fixed lunch. It was a special occasion and so we didn't mind spending more to get things that were not part of the price fixed menu. Overall the food was ok. A bit too heavy and greasy for my taste. The decor was very nice. What I didn't like about the place was that I felt rushed from the moment we got there. The coat check girl had barely taken our coats and had not given the ticket yet and the host was already all the way at the back of the restaurant showing us our seats. We had to rush over to follow him. The waiter was also rushing us through our [select]ions as we ordered. The food was quite a lot and I could not finish it, so I asked for it to be wrapped up. I was so disappointed to find out at home the they had taken no care at all in packing the meal. They just threw in the meat without any of the sides or the sauce!! For a good restaurant I expect great service and this was the most disappointing! Will not be returning.

Had the $29.00 prix-fixed brunch. I had lobster bisque soup, main was the chef's salad and creme brulee for dessert - all excellent. They also have a $34.00 prix-fixed brunch which included additional items and, of course, items which required more $$$. I really hate when restaurants add supplements to a prix-fixed menu, either don't serve it or just have another prix-fixed amount. Anyway, service was excellent and the atmosphere is nice Regular prices are quite expensive so I was glad to experience this place for brunch. Did not drink so cannot comment on the bar prices.

Theatrical room, very good service and very good food made for a memorable evening. We had the tasting menu and it proved a worthwile choice. Venison, which is not normally my first choice, was very tasty. Desserts and wine list were both very good. Service was friendly. Room was impressive and lively. Tables are close together but the room had great energy.
