Sweet Little Turkish
This little restaurant, just south of the 59th Street Bridge, provided a very enjoyable pre-theater dinner for our party of four. Service was extraordinarily friendly and accommodating; we were made to feel like family. The ambience is typical of the many low-budget, small, store-front restaurants that dot the avenues throughout the city. The menu offers a good mix of Turkish, Greek, and middle-eastern selections. Shepherd salad was fairly standard, but the vegetables were very fresh and the serving size quite ample. Zuccini pancakes were wonderful. Falafel was very good. The only appetizer we didn't like was the Manti, which was pasty and bland. All of our entrees were excellent. The Bronzini was cooked to perfection and spiced just right. Shrimp casserole was enormous (8 very large shrimp) and delicious. The Sultan's Delight (roasted lamb over smoked, creamy eggplant puree) was spectacularly tasty and everyone's favorite. Deserts were okay but nothing to write home about. Our dinner for four with appetizers, drinks for all, and coffee and desert came to about $40 per person, not including tax and tip. I recommend this sweet little spot!

Neighborhood Gem
We decided to try this restaurant for dinner one Friday night based on the reviews we found online. We went in for dinner around 9pm and were given a table for 2 near the back. Service was wonderful, the waiters were very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine menu. We had the swordfish kabobs and stuffed flounder - both were tasty. But the highlight of our meal were the apps - Mediterranean Salad with Feta Cheese and the Zucchini Pancakes. We look forward to going back and trying more options on the menu. Luckily we live in the neighborhood and are within their delivery zone. The chicken shish-kabob sandwich is the perfect take out item and much better than typical chicken sandwiches from local diners. We would recommend Dardanel to anyone looking for a friendly restaurant that feels like it is family-run. Good food and reasonable prices for the neighborhood too!

My new spot on 50's & 60's
Nice place to take your date. She really liked the food and I loved the turkish beer. We had an intimate time at our back-corner table. :-) I'll surely be going back.

Superb place
Excellent over all! Was there few days ago with my GF and her cuz. We basically sample the entire menu... haha... I know > CRAZY! Nevertheless, a complete feast and it was very reasonably priced. I liked the Turkish white wine (great aroma.)

Great find!
Quaint little restaurant tucked away near the Queensboro bridge. The food was very great (had the lamb and the fish of the day). Wine selection was extensive and aligned very well with the type of food. Also, I felt the wine was prices very reasonably ... didn't see the $85 cab that was mentioned below. Had some excellent Turkish wine. Overall I would rate this restaurant very high. I would definitely go back here.
