Best Indian Food in Manhattan
Four of us went to Darbar for the first time a few nights ago to celebrate a friend's retiremen, and everything I read in the reviews was true. The service was excellent and unobtrusive. The waiters were friendly and helpful with our menu choices, even making suggestions when asked. Every dish we ordered was delicious. After eating all the wonderful food, we were too full for dessert. Imagine our surprise and my friend's delight when the waiters surprised us with a complimentary assortment of ice-creams with a candle on it! They had asked what the occasion was when they saw us writing our messages in a greeting card, and they provided that special addition at the end of the meal. It was a nice touch to a good evening with friends. We will definitely return.

Best Indian food I have eaten in the US
A friend of mine introduced me to this place, and it is by far the most legit Indian food I have eaten in the US. This is the closest to authentic Indian food you will find - so if you want to have the real deal, this is definitely a must-go to place. Slightly more expensive than a lot of Indian restaurants, but totally worth it!!

Fantastic Delivery!
I just started ordering delivery from this place on February 14th and I love it so much that I now order about twice a week! Really good Indian food and I love the Kheer dessert. Delivery is always prompt and the prices are good too ,although they did just raise the price of the lunchbox specials : ( Still...a good value with great service.

Great food, great service!
Although a little on the pricey side, the food here is wonderful. The service is top notch - staff is very attentive and professional. The appetizers we ordered were great, as were the entrees.

Solid Indian food, great Lunch buffet!
Being born in Pakistan and being raised on Indian food, Darbar certainly isn't as spicy as Pakistani food but the quality is pretty good and the best in east midtown. Not to mention the service is great...they don't stare at you all meal long like at other Indian establishments, bring you fresh naan with your meal, and are very clean and professional. Curries can be made hotter than the usual mild western crap out there, and their flavors are fantastic. Not the cheapest Indian place, but the best one around for the value.

What a fantastic bargain in Manhattan! We stumbled upon Darbar and had the lunch buffet. The food was great and such a value! Service was wonderful, too. We will definitely return.

Best Bang for your Buck!
I went to Darbar's for lunch and found the service to be very welcoming and attentive. Although I was late for my reservation, the staff immediately seated me and advised me about the lunch buffet with great explanation as my husband and I are were 1st timers with Indian food. As a chance, we chose Darber and enjoyed the loveliest lunch buffet I think I have had in a long time. It felt like a romantic dinner. The buffet was spectacular and filled with yummy items. The Chicken Tikka Marsala was fantastic and the spinach dish was to die for. The only downfall was the Chicken Chef Special entree that my husband ordered off the menu, it was very thick and pasty. He ended up eating off my plate from the buffet. A must try for a cheap, fun Indain experience. That's what I say...
