Great Jamaican
Nice to see they opened again. They used to be on the north side of the street. Now they share space with a sandwich shop. Jerk is really good as is the Curry Chicken. Not much decor and don't bother with the sandwich's from the other side. They microwaved an egg sandwich. Portions are large with rice, plantains and greens. Get a vegetable, chicken or beef patty. The RUM CAKE is amazing! Very nice staff.

Jerk is great.
Jerk is tasty and spice. Homestyle Food. No frills. Hang out on the picnic benches in the back and chowdown. 8$ gets you chicken, plantains, veggies and rice with beans. Go.

Great Jerk food
Basically just a stand inside of a restaurant, I got the Jerk Chicken large and it was really tasty, came with rice and beans as well as sweet potato "dumplings" which were also great. Great portions, great service, believe the hype on this one.

Nothing fancy: just great food
As noted, it's basically a stand inside a storefront on 14th st (which itself has very good sandwiches). But the food is terrific. Goat, Pork, Chicken, Jerk, Curry: all excellent, reasonably priced and lots of it. The small is large the large, well, don't do it alone. Picnic-type tables in the back with the TV on. What a great lunch place!

Best Jamaican in Manhattan
You can tell there's a lot of love in their dishes. The food is carefully done and downright delicious. I love that they make everything fresh daily - sometimes when certain deliveries don't come certain dishes simply don't get made - which is good because many other restaurants would simply take out the frozen stuff for the quick buck. The stew peas and curry goat especially are out of this world.

Daphne's is still here!
I used to love going to Daphne's Caribbean Express for the past 10 years and then I moved away for about 2 months to L.A. I came back and saw that Daphne's had closed their doors. Lo and behold that really isn't the case at all. Daphne's just moved 2 doors East into another restaurant called "The Blue Mahoe" which is a more fancier joint. The most amazing thing is that even though Daphne's is now in this new, fancier locale, you can still get the same great food at the same great prices as before. I was actually stunned to see this. I've always loved Daphne's but the previous decor was O.K. Now, I go there, chill at the bar and enjoy the mose delicious jerk chicken north of Negril Beach. You guys should check it out. Awesome! I thought these guys were out of business and I became very depressed. Hey, they are still here and seem to be doing quite well.

Just Eat!
The service and ambience are better than you would think for a place that looks like it stresses 'express'. It's not 5 star but it doesn't need to be. We had our food within minutes! Portions were generous and you can't beat the prices. The location is pretty good too for a jaunt around the village, either started or ended with a meal here.
