    Best Bagels in NYC

essa,murrays,h&h...Daniels has the best bagels in NYC...recently they started serving egg sandwiches which is a big +...i usually get whole wheat everything with either tuna, cream cheese, or egg and cheese. Their cream cheese and tuna are fantastic. I once got Israeli salad and it wasn't that good so I think stick to the basics (tuna, eggsalad, cream cheese). While the staff is generally friendly, and contrary to other reviews, pretty quick, some of the guys make mistakes. so it may be better not to give them all 3 bagels at once, but one at a time...although this may slow things down. Their prices are reasonable and their coffee is good so overall i think this is a great place in a neighborhood not known for having great food. Best Bagels in NYC!

    Real Bagels

I saw some of the negative reviews here and I have to say I don't really understand them. I never thought about the service much one way or another. I'm easily annoyed by bad service but this is the sort of place where you buy your bagels at a counter. On weekends the line is really, really long. Actually, considering the length of the line, the service isn't that bad. I grew up eating bagels and I'm really glad that there's a place in my neighborhood that makes them well. However, it's a bagel place, not a deli. I haven't tried the bialies, but I wouldn't think of bothering with anything else.

    don't ever go here

i just went to daniels bagels and waited in line for about 45 minutes.... despite there being only two ppl ahead of me. while in line i saw a woman "brushing away the seeds" but in reality she kept shoving the dirty brush into the bagel bins, YUCK. once i got to the counter it took them another ten minutes to get my bagel ready and they FORGOT TO TOAST IT. these ppl have messed up countless orders and are always rude. in addition, i was appalled by the sanitary conditions today. if you value your stomach, DO NOT EAT HERE.

    2 Hours for 1 Bagel

This place took 45 minutes to deliver our bagels. Upon arrival, the order was wrong and we called to fix the mistake. It took Daniel's Bagels two hours to deliver the correct order. After several calls and discussions with the Manager (who was not only unhelpful but rude) they came back to our apartment.

    Tasty Salads

It seems as though they are improving their salad [select]ion.. Lots of new tasty salads, I had some of their "tuna w corn" salad on a sesame bagel and it was seriously so good! I've never tasted tuna like that. The whitefish on poppy w tom onion was my fav. breakfast sandwich but I would say the tuna is def. now my number 1 choice. I took home some of their avocado eggsalad, dijon pickle potato salad, honey turkey, cabbage apple slaw and dozen bagels and I am enjoying this great indoor picnic lunch over the weekend.

    My favorite bagel

I'm from Montreal, Quebec, Canada and discovered Daniel's bagels over 15 years ago. Everytime I'm in New York, Daniel's bagels is a must for me. I love the chicken salad on onion bagel. Can't get enough of it. I was never impressed with the service or atmosphere but I can't say enough good about the food or value. I guess you need to get over the crusty (ahem) staff and just enjoy the delicious bagels. Chicken salad on onion with a Snapple does it for me. I can't wait to get back to NYC to get my fill.

    Rude Staff

I've been to this place several times because of it's convenience as I live in Murray Hill. Each time I go, I cross my fingers that management has addressed the issue of how rude their staff is - and for no reason at all. My husband went there recently, came back and said he is never going back. I should have made that decision a long time ago. The last thing anyone needs is to be stressed on a leisurely Sunday morning.
