worst phone service i've ever encountered, but...
phone service is the worst in the city, i'm convinced. the pies are wonderful, but i have gotten so pissed at the customer service that i've, for the most part, stopped ordering from there. i must say though, after several months of boycotting daniellos, tonight i ordered a delivery from them, and for the first time ever, i had a pleasant customer service experience. i'll probably keep the delivery ordering minimal, as the experiences i've had with them are mostly terrible and uncomfortable, but i must say, the pizza IS quite good, and if you're up for some really rude and pushy phone etiquette, these are the guys to call. you know what, as a real italian, if you want the real italian experience, you go to these guys.

surly service and pie was not cooked enough
Usually, Daniello's pizza is ok, not great, but ok. It has a very thin crust which I like, the sauce is a bit sweet for me. The kids like it, so I order it. NEVER AGAIN. My pie today was barely cooked. More cheese was on the box than on the pie. It looked as if someone literally just whipped it out of the oven and threw it across the room into a box.

Pretty Good Whole Wheat Pie
This is one of the few places in the neighborhood that offers a whole wheat crust. Curiously, it seems different every time we order it. We call about once a week. Not fantastic, but pretty satisfying. The delivery guys are nice. But someone should tell them to be careful to keep the pizza horizontal as they transport it. It has been bunched up on one side of the box more than once.

Daniello's is GREAT
I eat here often. I love their pizza. I love their fettuccine alfredo (rich and creamy = better than anywhere else in NYC). I love their ceasar salad and their buffalo chicken wings (more like wing dings if you know what they are). I like the regulars there. The staff is really nice but I say hi to them. The Upper West Side is not a place where most people return my greetings but the pizza shop is a place I know people will smile back and say "Hi".

phoning it in
These guys don't care about running a restaurant. They should go out of business. The food is OK but the service and delivery is awful.

lousy customer service
I have finally decided to write a review of this place. I have lived in the area for 10 years. The pizza is good. The service, the people who run the place are rouges and worse. Every time the person on the phone is either unable to understand anything and gets curt, or just plain rude. The in store purchase is plain rude. They all have a huge chip on their shoulder, and act like everyone is dumb. Having a pizzza business is just not what they care about. They are still around because there isn't anything all that near. It is a sour experienc each time. I totally believe the credit card scam..it is just like these guys. Rouges all of them basically. The prices switch on the soft drinks, the pirces for a slice change. Devious. I go only as a last resort.

Check your CC statement
If you use your credit card, check your statement the next day. They add to the tip. When inquiring with them, they say, "it happens to customers all the time". They attempt to blame the credit card and suggest it could be a hidden fee. To remedy the situation, they will offer you a discount for the next time you come in. Beware!
