    Wonderful Food

We stopped here on a whim last night because it was too cold to walk any furher. I just read alot of the reviews and they were pretty bad but I've got to admit both our meals were fantastic. I had the rissotto special and my husband had the pesto pasta. I'm a big foodie and I'm very picky so maybe they have a new chef since these other reviews Nothing was salty as other have said, the only thing was it's italian food but most of the wait staff looked Lebanese.

    Subpar, don't waste your money!

As some have already said the service was absolutely subpar. The waiter was quite brusque with us when taking the order, and never came by to see how we liked the food - then gave himself a 20% tip when doing up the check! Food itself was uninspiring, I've had much better at less expensive places.

    Mediocre

I hadn't planned to go there, but the menu looked decent, so we went in for brunch. It's suppose to be an italian resto, but the wall decorations were in french and the wait staff greeted us with "hola". Not sure what they were really going for. The food came relatively fast. But everything was super salty. The linguine with clam sauce was disappointing, i love garlic, but that was way too much. And it would hurt them to put more clams in the dish. My friend ordered one of their hot sandwiches, it was too salty as well and they put too much sauce on it. The bill finally came and the price charged was not what was stated on the menu. It was an extra couple of bucks per dish. Totally not worth it.

Good Quality and FAST Pre-Show Service

This place is great for a good quality Italian meal, fairly priced with the fastest service possible. This is particularly appreciated when you're running late for a Broadway show. I have been here many times and keep going back. You can't beat the location. By the way, I balked the first time someone brought me here because I thought it looked like a typical tourist trap that would inevitably have bad food. Boy, was I wrong.

    rip-off

I have been living in NYC for the past month and my sister came into town this weekend and we went to several Broadway shows. While we were waiting to buy tickets we decided to grab breakfast at Daniela's. When we first sat down we ordered water and he brought us two bottles of water. I told him that we do not want bottles of water we just want tap water. He told me that he can't bring us tap water, the "big boss" says "no" he said. Then he came over with two small glasses of water and said "ok, he said it was ok". There were only 2 of us and when we got the bill the TIP was included. It did not say it anywhere on the menu that the TIP was included and when we asked him why it was included he said "oh, i don't know" and started acting like he didn't speak English and didn't understand what we were saying. The food was alright but nothing special and the service was not good. I do not recommend this restaurant. Please don't make the same mistake we did!

    Long Island Theatre Goers

08/29/08 We were looking for a restaurant near the theatre suitable for two adults and a ten year old child. We were dra wn to Danielas' because we heard that they served brick oven pizza which was our childs' choice, and we could have a meal. We ordered one salad (more than enough to share),one personal pizza,an order of mussels and a shrimp and linguini entree. The mussels were delicious, blanketed with sauteed cherry tomatoes not usually in the broth at other restaurants. The bread was very good made fresh and hot and was perfect for mopping up the mussel broth. Unfortunately, everything came to the table at once and the linguini dish quickly grew cold. I would have ordered a Veal dish but pasta was an extra six dollars if you didn't want the potatoes that came with it. In my opinion most of the veal, chicken and seafood dishes should come with spaghetti rather than potatoes. Our soda and iced tea came in glasses packed with ice leaving not much room for drink. Our waiter said if we wanted a little more to drink we would have to pay for new glasses! At dessert time I asked our waiter if the "midnight cake" had frosting, he said" no just chocolate cake" Thinking it might be too plain we ordered the chocolate mousse which turned out to be another cold cake not the glass we expected. Adorned with fresh whipped cream it was not too sweet and and just okay. Before leaving we went to the restroom which is adjacent to the case where all the desserts are displayed. Lo and behold there was a gorgeous tall chocolate layer cake, filled and frosted with chocolate frosting! It looked like a Chocolate Lovers Dream. I asked what the name of the cake was and the counter person said Midnite Cake! When I said that our waiter told us it was just plain cake he suggested I buy a slice to take home with us. Not really a solution to the misinformation we were given. We certainly would have ordered the other cake. By the way dirty dishes were left on the table throughout our meal until we asked for them to be cleared away. I'm not sure we would go back again and I must mention that I don't like the tip added to the check without being advised that this will be done as a matter of course. My experience has been that the tip is done this way on tables of six or more. We were only three!

    Salt Lovers Paradise

After seeing a show this past weekend, we (me & 3 others) went to this restaurant. The decor & ambiance was minimal but that wasn't what would make me not return The food wasn't good. We started off with 2 apps to share, the calamari was good but that was the only thing that was good. The clams were chewy & salty (I thought it had to do with the melted grated cheese on top). All 4 of our dishes (I had pasta dish with salmon & aspargus in tomato sauce, others had veal parm, lasagna & pasta dish with shrimp) were overly salty, and not just a little A LOT. I should have listened to the reviews before I went but (& no joke intended) but I usually read them with a grain of salt. The reviews were true & I should have listened to them. I would not return & I would NOT recommond to go here.
