So we visited Daniel for the first time and went with the three course $107 prix-fixe menu (there is a more expensive tasting menu). Our first impression was very good, the restaurant itself is beautiful to look at and the service staff is all extremely pleasant, helpful and accommodating – just what one would want. Personally I found the sommelier a bit inattentive, I like to talk to the guy and pick his brain for a few minutes but he didn’t seem to have time us. The overall food experience was good, all of us found the main courses excellent, the sea bass tasted great and was cooked well and the pig - prepared four ways, seemed imaginative to me and was full of flavor. The only issue was that some dishes were small - the pig and the sea scallop appetizer (yes it’s a French restaurant, but there’s Small and then there’s Too Small). The accompanying breads were ok, some good and some poor (no match to Bouley for a comparison). The desserts were pretty good - while the chocolate cake and mango dessert were enjoyable, the ice creams and sorbets were fantastic, we had to ask for some more!

Incredible food. The atmosphere was amazing. The service was also amazing. It's the best restaurant I've ever been to. It's very expensive, but the quality's incredible.

My husband & I dined at Daniel on a Monday evening. We have nothing but rave reviews...We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The dining room is absolutely stunningdramatic but subdued, completely elegant and crisp. The decor fits together beautifullyfrom the fresh flowers on the tables to the dramatic curtains between the restaurant's giant columns. The service could not have been more attentive, unobtrusive, and graciouswe were offered a wonderful bread basked multiple times, our water was always promptly refilled, we never had to ask for anything and the staff was so elegant and truly refined. Our food was EXCEPTIONAL...we began with a three tiered tray with four amuse bouches, all of which were divine. My husband had the tuna appetizer and I had basil-fennel ravioli. For our entrees, I had the salmon and my husband had a trio of beef. The presentation was so elegant and detail-oriented and the food was truly delicious. For dessert, we had an upside down chocolate souffle with vanilla bean ice cream and a gorgeous raspberry-lemon vacherinthe most miniature merringues surrounding raspberry sorbet. It was exquisite! We also recieved complimentary warm madeleines and a tray of dainty cookies & chocolates. Heavenly! Our dinner for two, including 1/2 bottle of wine and gratuity, came to $366....so it IS expensive but it is also heads above any other restaurant in the city.

food and service were great. the dining room was beautiful. but for the same price, i found jean georges to be of much better value.

The place rocks, if you got the jack to blow on eating out. The four of us went to dinner on a friday night and the restaurant was not too crowded or noisy, surprisingly. Forcing gents to remain in their jackets is kind of silly - when you spend that much on a meal, you should be able to call the shots. But the food was as unbelievable as the rumors make it out to be, and they offer an interesting selection of dishes as well as cocktails. It's not quite the young, hip, see-and-be-seen scene, but look no further when you're interested in a stunning, solid meal.

Though very expensive the meal was the best I have had! The service was impeccable and the surroundings were very relaxing. As the type of people who do not often eat in this type of restaurant we were made to feel very much at ease and comfortable. The food was cooked and presented to perfection and despite the fine dining presentation we were thoroughly full! The perfect meal!!

We are from Miami and are very used to many high end restaurants. Daniel's has to be one of the best restaurant's we have ever been to. The food, service and detail surpassed our expectations. The Chef was there on the day that we dined and which was a special treat. Loved it and will recommend to all my friends.
