Real Coffee and Real Brooklyn
We're from Seattle, so we know good coffee. This place is the real deal! Best coffee we've been able to locate in the city, bar none. The neighborhood old-school Brooklyn-Italian grandpas congregate there after about 9:30a to dish out the dish in heavy Brooklyn accent (or whatever it is they do). It's great. You won't find anything like it anywhere. Trust me, we've looked. Price for a small iced coffee with real cream and sugar = $1.75, and it's far better than those nasty coffee carts. The breakfast muffins are pretty good, but we prefer the other bakeries down the block (closer to Carroll Park). Only "issue" - they close on bank holidays and Sundays. They do take Credit Cards over $10, which is nice when we pick up beans. We think the prices there are completely appropriate for Seattle (meaning underpriced for NYC). Definately worth your while to swing by and see what's happening and have some coffee. The only reason the service got a 3.5 is: it is a Mom and Pop place. They are usually doing other stuff or are chatting with regulars or assisting other customers. There is more staff on the weekends.

This is the place for coffee...
If you like coffee this is the place. It is a mom and pop shop that specializes in great coffee with cute Brooklyn names. It is for real coffee drinkers only! Those other commercial coffee shops do not compare.
