Ive lived near Daltons for over 2 years now, being a huge sports fan I initially thought it would end up being a great place to watch games after moving to NYC. However, after going in several times I concluded it was just "OK!" and really didnt care to go back. Recently I met a friend for drinks at Daltons who informed me that the bar had new owners, which made sense given the fact that they now had all brand new 50" flat screens, a new menu, new staff, and my favorite part.... A Patron shot Chiller! Since then Ive been to Daltons a half dozen times, and every time has been great; the food is excellent, the drinks and drink specials are vast, and the service is amazing! Theyve done a nice job turning it around, but I still think the best part about the place, is all of the flat screens theyve put in! Theres just not a bad seat in the house with 15 or so TVs, and they have just about every sports package you could imagine. Baseball, Football, Basketball, Hockey, Golf, Cricket, Soccer, you name it! Love Daltons, its become my local hang out!

If it weren't for the midtown prices (which you have to expect), I'd give this place 5-stars! I'm not a huge sports bar person but have always had a great time & excellent service at Daltons. They have a large selection of beers, two of which that choose as the $4 beer specials for the month. They also choose two liquors for $5 shot specials each month. If you stick to the drink specials, you'll balance the food prices. Either way, it's happy hour all the time at Daltons! Last time I went there I split this ginormous appetizer sampler - which was so huge it had to be served on two oversized plates - with 3 other people...and it was more then enough! We got two hot dogs, one each of their beef & turkey burger sliders, chicken wings, chicken fingers, and spinach artichoke dip with chips. When we ordered I thought $30 was a super inflated price...but when it arrived I could see it would be worth every midtown-penny! All portions were generously sized. With the exception of having to cut the hotdogs & sliders in half, we were able to go back for second tastings on everything else. This was an awesome change from the usual "everyone gets one bite of each thing and then remains hungry" midtown app sampler experience. And, even though we arrived at 1:30 am on a Sunday late-night, everything was made fresh! Nothing sat waiting to be reheated for late night folk. The bartender was super accommodating, never judging us for only ordering drink specials and never rushing us out of the bar, even though we sat there forever sipping and talking. The ambiance is nice, the seating is comfortable, and they have the tables and stools arranged just right in order to pack in the peops but give everyone space. This is really one of the best spots in the area of midtown for service & quality. I'll keep going back time after time and will never complain about the walk to 9th ave!

We often head around to Dalton's to watch the game on a week night. Our regular waiter always remembers our usual drink order and has it right to our table within minutes of sitting down. The steaks and burgers are consistently above par for pub food. Definitely our favorite spot to sit and watch the baseball on one of their many huge TVs.

On my last trip to New York I decided I would review all of the restaurants that I dined, upon arriving home. I just now realized that this fits into the sportsbar and grill segment. I guess sitting near the window outdoors I didn't notice the lengthy bar. The place was quite clean for a bar. The salad was overpriced as is usual in Manhattan. I didn't catch the price of my beer. Overall, just like ANY other sports bar. This is New York, go somewhere with a bit more atmosphere.

The TV's are huge and play almost any sport you want. The beer selection is favorable, food is good. The service was fine but Paul (the owner) runs around yelling at his staff all night, which was somewhat of a turnoff, but other than that the place is nice.

I love Daltons. The food is good (the burgers are my fav in NYC) and the bartenders are great. However, the wait staff leaves a little to be desired. When we go and there is no space at the bar, we go somewhere else.

A group of 6 went to watch the Michigan game here (Go Blue!) and the place was packed with other adoring fans. Needless to say the wait staff was overwhelmed and service wasn't very attentive, although the manager seemed to be out on the floor helping things along. My burger arrived pretty quickly however I ordered mine after the rest of the table placed their order (because I arrived late). They had warned me that the server took a while to arrive at the table and take their orders. Meanwhile, the guys seated next to me warned me that their burgers were quite rare and it would benefit me to make sure I ordered mine more well done than usual, which I did. I ordered mine medium-well. Unfortunately, when my burger was delivered, it too was severely undercooked. The smell of raw meat still wafted from the plate. Since it was a busy day in the kitchen, I took that under consideration, but couldn't figure out how a medium well burger could be so underdone. The portion was sizeable, which was nice, but again, I feared spending all Saturday night praying at the porcelain throne so I didn't finish the large burger. The fries were similar to McDonald's fries. Nothing special. Anyway, there were tons of TVs to watch the game, which was great.
