Food has always been decent here, and in the decade I've been ordering from them, delivery has always been quick. But something changed in fall 2011. The last several orders I've placed have all taken well over an hour instead of the usual 20 minutes. A few times, after an hour they'll call to say they're out of something I ordered -- meaning they haven't even made the food an hour after ordering. This was my favorite delivery spot for a decade, but enough is enough.

I live four blocks from this place. As for the food its just ok.. nothing i would order if others were involved, but if for myself its ok. However two out of my three total deliveries have taken well over an hour. And its not that i called and they said it was on the way, both times i called and they seemed really confused and then said it was just leaving the restaurant. In other words, only order if you feel like waiting a long time and feel like having to follow up on your order. They have never include sauce, even though the last time i paid $1 extra for the extra big thing of sauce, guess what... i didn't get it.

No doubt this isn't the cheapest meal in the neighborhood, but considering how good it is, how large the portions are and that this is mostly meat, I feel it's a great value. The place is small, but the atmosphere is cozy. The staff seems to be one person that hosts and waits, a small crew of delivery guys that busily come and go, plus some people in the kitchen that you can't see. I suspect that the hostess/waitress, might be the owner because it was obvious she genuinely cared for our experience in a way that you rarely, if ever, see from hired help. The food is good old fashioned comfort food along with heaps of smoky barbq that's everything you'd crave for from such a meal... Including the expected finger licking, barbq sauce face and uncomfortably full feeling that (should be) inherent to good barbq meal. Once the food settles, I'll worry about wiping the barbq sauce smudges off my iPhone. Too full for desert.

I really don't like to give bad reviews but I really feel I have to for this place: for the amount of food you get way overpriced (btw, the prices I was charged were higher than those listed on their website); the pulled pork was dry and pretty tasteless, the baby back ribs just a little better, mac and cheese was flat, the creamed spinach was more cream than spinach, carrots had a metallic taste, the cole slaw was passable. The only side dishes I could recommend were the okra and tomatoes that actually tasted a little bit fresh, potato salad had a little pep. How this place is still in business is beyond me!

A difficult find, but well worth it! We ordered to take out and got home 1/2 later (traffic) but the packing was amazing ... everything was still hot. The chicken was better than the ribs, but even the ribs were good. The fries were wonderful (and the owner had warned us that they would get soggy in the trip but they were great), the carrots were great. I am looking over to our leftovers -- we ordered Festival 2 -- well worth it. We will definitely be going back! I want to try everything!

We waited an hour and a half for delivery, including a phone call after an hour to make sure they received my online order. Claimed to be a 10% discount for ordering online, which was never deducted. Finally received lukewarm food...pulled pork sandwich was ordered with sauce on the side, but never received sauce. Jerk chicken sandwich was just a bland, dry grilled chicken sandwich. Honey butter cornbread was just regular, cold, dry cornbread. We will never be ordering here again.

Just got back from a miserable experience. The catfish was inedible, tasted muddy and foul. Collard greens were dry, I have no idea how they managed that. Cole slaw mediocre. Corn bread cold and no butter. Ribs appeared boiled and grilled. Fatty and hard to eat. This was not BBQ. I'm a native Texan and was raised on catfish and BBQ. This stuff was horrid. A waste of $50 and time. I'm not sure I can keep down what little I managed to eat.
