We have been ordering whole chickens and chicken dinners from this spot well over 10 years -- Their big plump juicy chicken has never disappointed. A whole delicious chicken is $6.99 which has to be the best deal on the Upper East Side. We also love the cole slaw -- with carrots and cabbage -- that is always fresh and crispy and bring back memories of hot summer days at a picnic when we were kids. It is $1.99 a pint! The corn bread is always fresh out of the oven within a few hours -- Order yourself an extra piece for $1.00. It is just as tasty as a corn muffin. The baked potatoes are 'baked potatoes' with no surprises, and the corn on the cob is always overcooked but steaming hot when it arrives. I can't comment on the steaks and burgers because we are a 'chicken' family. The food is always delivered within the window of time they promise, and it is always delivered with a smile. They also give you the total amount so you can have it ready when the food arrives. They are generally so busy with phone orders that I can't claim they give 'service with a smile' although they are always polite and always get the order right. But sometimes there is that brief moment when someone will tell you they are so happy you called. Give them a call -- you will be happy you did.

Never again. I came alone for a quick bite. Took them a good 15 minutes to acknowledge me and take my order which came out literally 5 minutes later. Dry cold brisket, limp coleslaw. The only edible thing was the fries. I'm almost positive that any Texan to set foot in this joint would be embarrassed to have their city stamped on such an sub-standard place.

I've been taking out their roast chicken as a healthy quick dinner since for more than 10 years. The quality of the meat, the taste, and the size of the chicken have gotten disappointing. Tonight was unappetizing and I will never takeout from Dallas BBQ again. What a shame. It was so convenient.

That a giant bbq place like this would have a restroom that has many tiolets. The mens room has 1 TIOLET.God forbid there was a urgent need to use it by more than one people. Food is ok.Gets to your table seconds after you order it. Frozen drinks better.

I go to this place whenever I am in the neighborhood. It is a fun, bustling place. The food is good, not fancy or gourmet to be sure. But most items are tasty, and the portions are big. I like the brisket, the steaks, chicken, as well as the burgers. They also have really good frozen drinks, like margaritas, etc. The best thing about this place is the price. If you don't order drinks from the bar it is entirely possible to get a dinner for two for under $30.00. That's a great value considering prices at other area restaurants. If you want a fun, inexpensive meal, this is the place to go.

Prices are low and portions are large at this noisy, crowded BBQ spot. On a warm Saturday evening, the gigantic dining room was packed at an early hour and long lines were forming. Fortunately for us, most people come with larger groups so a small table for two was quickly available. This family-friendly establishment is ear-drum shatteringly loud with bustling waiters, clattering dishes and screaming children everywhere. Huge glasses of beer and soda helped us settle in and the room was impressively well air-conditioned on a hot day. We avoided ordering appetizers because we could see that portions were huge so we settled on entrees of pulled pork and brisket of beef. We hadn't expected much in the way of decor or ambiance when we make our dinner plans but we did hope for some good southern BBQ. Unfortunately, we didn't get it. The pulled pork was somewhat tasteless without generous amounts of BBQ sauce. The brisket was better but tougher than slow-cooked meat should be. A casual inquiry about our entree led to the revelation that it's not even cooked on the premises. It comes in a bag, already sliced and sauced and all the kitchen has to do is re-heat. Quite frankly, it shows. We give credit to our waitress who was quick, friendly and highly efficient. And we certainly got a lot of food at a bargain price. So, if you're feeding lots of children and are looking for generous amounts of decent food served fast and cheap, this is the place. But good southern BBQ it's not.
