Cheap - not that great food. Service is ok. I've been to Virgil's, Spanky's. Here is the verdict: Ribs: Virgil's. Chicken: Spanky's. Cornbread: Dallas/Spanky's. Mac & Cheese: Spanky's. Atmosphere: Spanky's/Dallas. Service: Virgil's.

The food isn't all that but in that area its the cheapest you'll find. The sticky wings are sooooo good and the drinks are great. Try the frozen apple martini its yummy. I like to call this the "girlfriends spot" because once you and your girlfriends get a little buzz from the texas size drinks it's ok to get a little noisy because this isn't the quietest most intimate spot to eat.

Good food, good service, a bit noisy. I had the baby back ribs and chicken como with a baked potato and cornbread, my son had the brisket. We each added a salad. My son said the honey mustard dressing was different but good (had a touch of BBQ flavor to it). We both left full and happy. Our food came very quickly and was hot and tasty. The waiter kept my son's coke filled which is usually a challenge for most. All in all, we'll go back there again! (it was my son's second time, my first) Next time I'm trying either the onion ring loaf or the veggie tempura!

Not the biggest fan of burgers and wings, but I must say this place keeps me coming back. The portion for wings is enormous, and I saw big guys get full even with the half size. Burgers are pretty good, as well as the chicken, but steak I got was tasteless, just mediocre. The ribs had more sauce than meat on them, so no more of that, unless I was served on a wrong night. For me the wings are the forte of Dallas BBQ. The drinks are cheap, too bad they don't have a wider beer offering, but a minor complaint. With the movie theatre next door this is a pretty good spot with right prices.

In a nutshell, you'd be hard pressed to get decent barbecue at this price anywhere else in Manhattan. Service was sketchy, but we were in no hurry. Hot wings were good and huge--brisket was good, pulled pork a little better. Frozen drinks were good; prices were decent.

I was in NY from September 2 to 7th and stumbled upon Dallas BBQ while walking on 42nd Street. I had read reviews about this place before and wasn't sure what to expect, however, once I was inside, I thought the place was fabulous. Prices were relatively inexpensive, portions were big, and staff were courteous, but not overly friendly. I find customer service generally better in Canada, but it didn't matter cuz all I cared about was the food and price!! Overall, a good experience. Try the wings; they are huge!

Got the lunch portion of baby back ribs for 7.99. It was good, and came with baked potato/fries, and huge cornbread, overall a very cheap, very good lunch for this area.
