Good with the bad
I love Indian food and have had plenty of it. I really like spicy food and have a few favorite spots. My recent move to the neighborhood has peaked my interst in trying some new indian food. So... After reading all the raving reviews on the site I decided to give Dakshin a try. I just finished eating a lunch order from Dakshin about 30 minutes ago. I ordered the Tikka Masala Lunch special and the Veggie Samosas. I stared out eating the Veggie Samosas which had so much flavor! They were amazing! Spicy too!! I was so happy... but the Tikka Masala Chicken was not very good. The prices are cheaper because you have to order all the extras. So if you are in the mood for Veggie Samosas this place rocks!

Dakshin, you make me happy!
My fiance and I both love Dakshin and order in from them regularly. After a bad day Dakshin always makes me happy! I always get the veggie korma and it's so rich in flavor. My fiance loves the chicken tikki masala. Only downfall is it doesn't include the basmati rice....but it's yummy and the nan is perfect! If you know your indian food and you're on the UES you need to know Dakshin.

The best
My husband and I have gone to many indian restaurants but none were as good as Dakshin. The food is something else here-much better than anywhere else. I recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Korma, not to mention the wonderful tandoori specialties they have. my husband and I go at least once a week. I recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great for delivery
Work on the UES - order here whenever I want Indian. Their Tikka Masala is good and huge, even the lunch portion. Good for two meals! Delivery is always super-fast.

Best Indian Food on the UES
This place is great. We moved to the area last year and go to Dakshin at least once a month. We have brought a number of people to it and no one has found a better Indian restaurant on the upper east side. The service is good too. After going there a couple of times, they remembered our usual orders (which are fairly complicated) even when we miss a few weeks.

Good and Spicy
The food is great. It was the first Indian food place I ever went to and I still haven't found anything I like better.

Ask for what you want
I enjoy this restaurant. Ask for white meat if you have the chicken and for how spicy you require your food. They oblige and the result is a damn good curry. The staff are friendly and the beer is cold. You can pay far more for a lot less in my opinion.
