Delicious Comfort Food!!!
I would definitely recommend this place - it's one of my favorites. Don't miss the corn, spinach & butternut squash sides, and of course the ribs! The atmosphere is practical bench seating but it feels homey.

Not worth the Money
I'm sorry, I would never order from this place again. The food was average, and the price is outrageous! You can buy better BBQ in NY; this place is not worth your money. We ordered for 12 people and were served food for 6 people. Not worth it…

Too much for too little
If you look at the reviews you'll see this place really does over charge for its food. Yes, I think its good but when a New Yorker (I live in the neighborhood) says "its too expensive" its REALLY too expensive. We're used to paying for what we want but this has no basis in reality. And as I mentioned I live a few streets away - one time I wanted delivery, the person who answered the phone said "as you live so close why don't you just come over?' Even with all this I was going to call today but I looked at the delivery fee: min $20 !!!!!!! Enough is enough, I used to recommend this place to my friends but I won't anymore.

NC Pulled Pork it Ain't
Sorry, Daisy May. Not only are your prices over-the-moon, you're not serving NC BBQ. I understand that BBQ varies from state-to-state (and , in many cases, from county to county). I specifically asked the counter person if the "NC BBQ" they had on the menu was Eastern Shore NC BBQ with a vinegar based sauce. I was told yes by both the counter person and someone who appeared to be a manager. What I got was pulled pork drenched in some kind of over-smoked, off-the-shelf, BBQ sauce. If I had dined in instead of getting a take out, I would have sent it back. That's the last they'll see of me.

Bummer
I really wanted to like this place but there are a series of things which stop that from being possible. 1 none of the food is ever hot, maybe room temp if your lucky (except the corn bread that is microwaved into a gummy mess. 2 The prices are through the roof. 3 No Tap water and No ice for any drinks. Luke warm sweet tea is a sin. 4 The red eyed gravy is not like any red eyed gravy you will ever eat anywhere in the south, as a previous reviewer said any roadside stand in the south seems to pull it off better than here. 5 mac and cheese was like paste, brisket had no smoke flavor and was drenched in red sauce.

Great Food; Unreasonable, Unreasonable Prices
I live in the neighborhood so I am not just some tourist suffering from sticker shock. I have eaten at about 10 other BBQ restaurants in NYC. The food is top notch but the prices are clearly unreasonable. If the prices for entrees would drop 3+ dollars, I would probably go here at least once a week. For now I am on the sidelines...

Not a value for the money
Food is very expensive. I had Shrimp barbeque and it was just ok. The bread pudding was also not of very high quality. Overall food quality was fair. But the price was exorbitant. Moreover the boy who was serving was not very courteous. There was a clear sense of nonchalance in his behavior because of the small quantity of our order. It was my 1st visit and will definitely be my last one.
