Excellent sushi and service
I only have good thing to say about umi sushi. the chef exemplifies commitment to service excellence and we have always enjoyed the high quality sushi.we usually order delivery and the food comes quickly and in great condition .we're fans, even our 6 year old loves it every time.

Very good restaurant
Very nice sushi!! Keep it up Chef!! There is one irresistable special roll - Spicy Shrimp Tempura Mango Roll. It has become my staple every time I dine in there. :)

Subpar Sushi
I started with the kani salad which has expired cucumber. How the heck do you mess up a kani salad? It's the simplest dish in the world! Then I had the spicy tuna roll and the spicy crawfish roll, both of which tasted awful. Total disappointment.

Great food,great service
Their fish is very high quality,and it's possible to eat well here .service inside the restaurant has consistently been very good.

The best sushi in NYC
The big salmon was fantastic . ( dai hachi roll ) so great. the service # 1. the chef always make something new.

A hidden little sushi restaurant
IMO is off 2nd Ave, and up a few steps, so it's not obvious. I go there for early lunch, when they're just opening, so the place is usually empty. At 12n is when the traffic picks up, but, it seems Umi does a high volume of take-away/delivery. The food is prepared fresh (not frozen). I get from the bento-box menu, which is a great value. The staff are extremely polite and helpful. If you'd like a good, healthy(er) meal than a fast food joint, sit down. Or order from Umi. A terrific little gem.
