Dafni Greek Taverna

I came alone to this restaurant not expecting to get a seat or even be served quickly as I went right in the middle of pre-theater madness. Not only did a one-seat table exist, but I was sat down in a very courteous and warm manner, as if I just walked in with a table for 6 that would bring them in hundreds of dollars. I was offered recommendations in a timely manner, I was served quickly as well. Basically, I was treated with the same level of care as any other table would have been. And the prices are so reasonable for any restaurant let alone the middle of Times Square. The grilled chicken souvlaki was great, as were the sides it came with, a cucumber relish, tzatziki sauce and lemon potatoes. Throw in a beer and my entire meal came to $20 + tip!! Definitely a great find, a classic, well-priced homecooked meal in the epicenter of tourist-ville, I had a great experience and I will be returning with many more in my party next time.

Came into the City from CT with my daughter for the Christmas Spectacular and some shopping. Went to Dafni for lunch (first time)and had the most lovely meal. Beautiful and clean and the food was AMAZING. It was not too loud and we were able to sit comfortably -without tables right on top of us. The bill did surprise me at the end - it was REASONABLE! The waitstaff was super attentive and my daughter, who drank water, never saw her glass go below half full. Being a sort of tourist, I always worry that we'll overpay for a terrible meal when we try a new place - I was so pleasently surprised with Dafni - The food tased just like my Yai-Yai had made it :) Will be back for sure!

Friends of ours took us to Dafni's after the theater on Saturday night. The place is casual but we found the food to be very good and the service attentive. They have a host of very enjoyable Greek wines. The food is presented nicely and the prices seemed quite reasonable. In fact I sought out one of the owners to tell him how nicely he ran the restaurant.I would highly recommend Dafni's if you are in that area.

This greek restaurant is just wonderful!!! The location is across from the bus station but don't let that put you off. The food is authentic greek (my husband's greek & his mom is a great cook). The appetizers were great with the dips, husband had the lamb shank & he almost sucked the bone dry; I had the moussakka (sp?) - it was to die for - the portions are enough for another meal. Service was great and it's very reasonable for nyc - for 3 of us the cost with tip was about $120 -- and don't forget to take home the doggie bag!

A good location for a Greek restaurant. The food is good. I really enjoyed the Greek salad. Will return.
