Rushed Feeling
After seeing a matinee on Saturday my friend and I had dinner here. It was raining, we walked in, quickly asked if we had a reservation, our umbrellas were taken away from us, we were shown to a table, menus thrown at us, server did not come back for awhile to take drink orders. There are many many restaurants in the theater district and all do a brisk business and have to serve people quickly. I have never experienced the rushed service that we received on Saturday night. I don't even think we were offered dessert, the check was tossed on the table, on the way out, I believe the Matre'd. not sure, said "enjoy the show" . This is one restaurant I do not intend on returning to, too many other good ones in the neighborhood.

Bland food at expensive prices
I ordered the Veal Martini. I was surprised when my meal was served about four minutes after I placed my order. Then it made sense to me, the plate was hot and the veal's sauce was thick and pasty . . . a dead-giveaway for a heated-up, microwaved meal.

Ambience of a funeral parlor
The food was good but the ambience was similar to a funeral. It was very quiet and we had to whisper because there were old people everywhere not talking at all to each other, but listening to those that were while staring the entire time. Ugh. Do not come here if you are going with more than two people and/or are under 50.

I don't recommend Da Tommaso
I do not recommend this restaurant. Service was indifferent and unfriendly. When taking our order the Maitre D kept on insisting that we order an appetizer with our meal, very rude and unprofessional indeed. The food was not fresh. Menu items and liquor are extremely overpriced.

Best Stuffed Pork Chop Ever
Before theater, my friend and I like to try places we've not been to before. This time we ended up at Tomasso's for no particular reason. We both had a generous green salad with very nice warm bread and then a stuffed pork chop that was out of this world! We had a larger than usual table for two where we could could easily have a private conversation. Very good service. If it was a bit expensive, it was well worth it.

A Gem
Stumbled on to this place on my way to a steak dinner. The specials were excellent(I had the stuffed pork chop). The staff was very attentive, my glass was always full. The cappachino and cannoli reminded me of Rome.

Not recommended
Five us ate at De Tommaso. We were served food covered with glop that I wouldn't expect from a New York Pizzeria. My $13.00 appetizer of shrimp wrapped in bacon was a couple of cold, not quite fresh shrimp covered in hideous orange sauce. My husband's salmon in mustard sauce could barely be seen. Our friend's lambchops didn't taste like anything but the tons of sauce over them. The bread was not Italian, it was wonder bread in the disguise of challah. We were constantly banged into by waiters at our table.
