The food is of good quality and I don't recognize the restaurant in those negative (often strange) reviews. I like it quiet. The waiters were friendly and helpful. I never got too much sauce on anything, and I've never seen pasta "flow" over sauce there or anywhere else in the world. I am pleased enough to be planning a party there in March, and I expect to be more than satisfied. Go, Tommaso!

Great local restaurant
I live in the area and it's always a nice place to have dinner with a friend. Nice environment. The waiter staff is good. Never rushed, in fact the last time I went I had to ask for the check. Always worth coming back.

Diamond in the district
Just happened to find this diamond in the rough as we were pressed for time to make a show. They were most generous in assuring our party of four(4) that we could have our meal served in time to make the show. After a nice bottle of wine and an outstanding meal we walked across the street to the theater, just in time for the show. A most enjoyable evening.

Favorite place!
This is the favorite place for my wife and I to dine whenever we are in NYC for any event! If we are with friends we bring them and they also return again and again. Even if the event is not in the theatre district, we make the effort to dine at Da Tommaso's. Love the ravioli. Service is the best! Worth a trip into the city even if nothing else is planned. We live 75 miles away!

Rushed Feeling
After seeing a matinee on Saturday my friend and I had dinner here. It was raining, we walked in, quickly asked if we had a reservation, our umbrellas were taken away from us, we were shown to a table, menus thrown at us, server did not come back for awhile to take drink orders. There are many many restaurants in the theater district and all do a brisk business and have to serve people quickly. I have never experienced the rushed service that we received on Saturday night. I don't even think we were offered dessert, the check was tossed on the table, on the way out, I believe the Matre'd. not sure, said "enjoy the show" . This is one restaurant I do not intend on returning to, too many other good ones in the neighborhood.

Bland food at expensive prices
I ordered the Veal Martini. I was surprised when my meal was served about four minutes after I placed my order. Then it made sense to me, the plate was hot and the veal's sauce was thick and pasty . . . a dead-giveaway for a heated-up, microwaved meal.

Ambience of a funeral parlor
The food was good but the ambience was similar to a funeral. It was very quiet and we had to whisper because there were old people everywhere not talking at all to each other, but listening to those that were while staring the entire time. Ugh. Do not come here if you are going with more than two people and/or are under 50.
