Mediocre service, food
I went here last night with my husband and found the staff to be rude, inattentive and unfriendly. The food was bland and I felt that everything I had was something I could have made better on my own- and I am NO chef! I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant and will never go back.

Delicious meal
I can't believe some of the negative comments posted previously. My friend and I had lunch here this afternoon and were anything but disappointed in the food or service. We both ordered the veal chop for the main course. It was succulent and wonderfully seasoned, the garlic spinach and roasted potatoes also very tasty. The service was very nice. In fact, when the waiter brought the check, he informed us that the drinks were on the house. I don't know why, but who cares? It was a very pleasant dining experience.

Incredibly sub par experience
This was one of the most overpriced and dissatisfying italian dining experiences I've had in NYC. I was planning on spending between $50 and $100 per person for our meal, but was not expecting a meal my girlfriend and i could cook with our eyes closed. Please, if you want a really great tuscan Italian meal in a similar or slightly less price range try Pepolino down in tribeca. Also try Frank in the lower east side or Accademia de Vino on the upper east side.

RUDE!
food was eh, service was not good at all. party of 10 on an early sunday night - capacity was 20% at best... and the waiter SHHH'd us! so rude. had to ask numerous times for things, no one was presented the dish they ordered. food was OK, but with thousands of NYC restaurants there is no reason to ever go here!

Love the Setting
Da Silvano is a great spot for a summer dinner. The waiters were friendly, a little slow but nothing that's not bearable. I would love to go again.

Not about the food
People who complain about the food and service forget that this place is all about sitting outside with sunglasses and being seen. With the first spring day, my friend and I went and did just that, and it is everything it always was - an "it" place with lousy food and service but still worth every penny! I just wish the stroller set would move on with their lives. Your Da Silvano time has passed you by!
