Da Nonna Rosa

I've been living in Park Slope for nine years--this newcomer is without question the best "affordable" pizza in the neighborhood. La Villa is great for a splurge but I like having an option that doesn't cost $20 or $30 bucks for a pie. Have ordered three times already and hope this place sticks around. (Pino's makes a great whole wheat pie--that will be my next try at Da Nonna!)

We eat in at Da Nonna's fairly regularly since they opened and order delivery occasionally. We're fairly picky about food quality and we've never been disappointed. The margherita pizza is excellent. The oreccheitte barese pasta is also excellent. Ony criticism is that whenever we eat in, there's always some issue with the service - the staff are always very friendly and accomodating, but there's always either a timing problem with dishes coming to the table or misunderstanding about the order. The first time we ate there, I received completely the wrong pasta dish. I didn't recognize the problem until after I started - but the food - though not what I ordered - was really good. I actually found a new favorite by accident. The staff realized the problem mid-way through the meal and gave me a take-home container with a fresh order of what I was supposed to get at no charge. Very nice.

I have both eaten in the restaurant and have taken food out many times. Everything from the bread on the table, appetizers, pizza, salad, sausage/ onion/ pepper roll , chicken and shrimp dishes and the pastas were delicious.

This restaurant has it all going on. The place is gorgeous, downstairs seems to be more of a family oriented dining area and upstairs has everything a park slope bar/lounge should have. The food is amazing, i had a grilled eggplant lasagna that was to die for! and to top all of this off the staff they have working there are all smiley and cheerful and seem genuinely happy to be there. my only complaint would be that they need fix the lighting downstairs. it is just a little to bright in there for nighttime dinning. love love love this place, will be there often.
