Best local italian restaurant in every way

I NEVER write reviews but Da Nonna Rosa is hands down the best Italian restaurant in every way. The food at Da Nonna Rosa is terrific and consistently good. My husband and I order for there often when my kids are asleep. The bread...I can live off their bread. Anyway, my youngest daughter who is 4 years old, is gluten free and so we have not been able to go to an Italian Restaurant with her unless we brought her food, but she would always be sad that she could not eat what was being served so we just wouldn't go. Da Nonna Rosa now offers gluten free pizza and pasta and it is just as good as their regular dishes. My daughter loves it. She wants to go there every week. We can finally go to or order from a restaurant that is not Mexican or Chinese as a family and eat amazing Italian food. To top that wonderful surprise, I worked with Lenny, the owner, to cater a Berkeley Carroll Parents Night Dinner last night and he really did an amazing job at a truly reasonable price! The food was right on time and was just as yummy as if we were at the restaurant and somehow it stayed pretty warm all night. I knew I ordered from the right place when everyone was asking me where the food was from. Thank you Lenny and Da Nonna Rosa for making one little girl so happy and for being such a wonderful neighborhood restaurant.

Great place. Reliable. Very good food.

My whole family loves this place. I have become obsessed with their chicken parmagianna. Pizza ia very good. I recommend the margherita. My wife says she cannot remember ever having a meal she didn't like there. Prices are very reasonable. Great family spot.

    mediocre at best

My boyfriend and I just ate here for the first time tonight, based on all of the positive reviews here. We were very disappointed. We ordered the Park Slope salad to share, the Farfalle alla Rosa (chicken, sausage, basil, mozzarella in pink sauce) and the Pasta Genovese (chicken & pesto). The salad was fine, if the mixed greens were on their last legs. The pasta portions were large, but that's where any positivity ends. My farfalle dish was too salty and tasted vaguely of buffalo wing sauce. The Genovese was super bland, and after tasting the farfalle, didn't taste like anything at all. We ate about half our plates and didn't take anything home. We felt ripped off and let down, and won't be going back.

    Still great!

Food is always REALLY good. Service is great. Very helpful, friendly, and attentive. This is without a doubt our favorite local spot. Highly recommended.

    Great Family Spot

We have made Da Nonna Rosa part of our weekend family time. Perfect place to bring the kids for lunch or dinner. Sunday dinner made easy!

    What happened

The service used to be great - not anymore. I went last week and almost walked out. What happened to the staff? There used to he several fantastic waitresses I don't see anymore. Even though the food is pretty good,I don't think I will be going back.

    Best Italian in the Neighborhood!

Best Italian food in Park Slope...easily. That includes the other places with the white table cloths. The tomato sauce is to die for.
