Naans to die for, generous portions, good service

Had pretty good food for pretty good price. The athmosphere is wonderful. The restaurant is located in an area with lots of other indian restaurants. Fortunately this place was pretty good. Worth a try!

I usually frequent the 6th street Indian restaurants as they are very reasonable and you could bring own wine. A friend of mine told me about Curry Leaf and I wanted to try it . I was amazed at how much more flavorful and pungent the dishes where which made it worth spending the extra money. the Naan was delicious as well as everything else. I have already told my husband that we have to go back.

I live near this place, and have tried many of the "Curry Hill" restaurants located on Lexington Ave between 25th St. and 29th St. This one had a nice atmosphere, and they serve plenty of water (in silver cups) to go with their nicely spiced indian fare. I ALWAYS order takeout from Curry Leaf becuase of the overall value. Delivery is alwyas within a reasonable time frame (unlike ordering anything from Patsy's whose delivery guys might ride tortoises). Getting back to Curry Leaf, I have been very happy with their delivery service most of the time, however there were a couple occasions where they skimped on the chicken part of the chicken korma, and one or two occassions where the saag paneer was a tad too watery. Their samosas are always wonderful as is that spicy/tart/cilantro/yogurt sauce that you get at better Indian restaurants. They've also got great naan bread. If you know of a better place in the area, please mention it here -- cause I LOVE Indian food!

Frequent take-out, occasional diner. I discovered Curry Leaf from a friend that works at TimeOut NYC. I have sampled many restaurants in the Curry Hill area...this is definitely at the top of the heap. They own a spice store also so the food is exceptionally complex and satisfying. Highly recommended. This is definitely my "staple" Indian restaurant.

While the service was satisfactory and the atomosphere acceptable, the food here was at best mediocre. The saag paneer lacked enough cheese and cream, and the chicken tikki masala was bland with a lack luster sauce.

People have complained about the service here, but we didn't have a problem with it tonight (perhaps the staff have been reading the reviews!). We had two people looking after us, filling water, bringing us drinks, answering questions about the menu. The food was fantastic, I recommend the Malai Kofta, and the Naan is the best we've had, and I've been to heaps of indian restaurants in the City.
