First of all let me start by saying that the last guy's review was stupid.. I loved the food. Me and my freinds go there every week. My favorite is their chicken Tikka, it's to die for. The service is great, the owner tries to make sure that that everyone's comfortable. He know's almost all his costomers personally, they should have the McDaonald's logo, Put a Smile On, they are never hostile. I love the food. trust me you'll definately have a great experience when you go to this place.

The food over there is great.I love the chicken tika maslam. I ordered the eggplant with onion and tomatoes. It was very delicious. I've never tasted vegetables like that. The mango lassi was tasty as well. I definately recommend this restaurant for all Indian food lovers.

Another poor Indian restaurant in NY. This may be the kind of food that folks would appreciate on an all you can eat cruise, but come on people, this is NY. There are Indian and Pakistani people here. I had a range of things: meats, saag, desserts. All tasted like they were made with sauces that came out of a can/mix. And everything tasted the same (same basic flavor components). Want to taste *real* Pakistani food - do yourself a favor and go to Gujarat Deli on 106 and Columbus. The guys there are all from Pakistan. They don't really speak English. It's take-out only. The food is what you'd find cooked by your aunt (or at least, my aunt). Nothing fancy. Very cheap. And food that doesn't taste like the McDonalds version of Indian food, which most places, from Indus Valley to Kabob and Curry do.

There are two kinds of indian restaurants in this city, one which sell americanized/ poor distant cousin of indian food and others who work on their menu and try and bring something closer to REAL Indian food. This falls in the first category: their menu has CTM and chicken curry and 3 more entrees, same taste of curry for every dish (loads of tomato puree + onions, consistency varies depending on what are you being served), spicy = addition of red chilly powder ( which is gross, the spicy flavor is supposed to come from blend of traditional south asian spices not just CHILI!), below average quality ingredients (which reflects in prices), fast service (yeah it is supposed to take a bit to come out, unless it is frozen curry mix with chicken/beef/lamb/shrimp/veg, oh I love those menu descriptions we can make it with anything you like!), garish decor, soft classical tunes which are same for years together ( I mean YEARS). Thats the general description and this follows it to the T. Sometimes can be accompanied by really rude wait staff, but in this case I found the service to be pleasant (it was a take out, my first from this place so had no idea how it could turn out). I dont mind people making some honest bucks, but this is not Indian food and its crime for it to pass as one and be rated highly or passed as "best CTM in town" - no it isn't! Now this is a review which should be avoided by those who like and know only the above version and think it is the best (after all we been having it for last 15 years or so!)and are never planning to change it (well goodluck!) But for rest, please find some place whose menu has more than the 6 usual dishes most have heard of (clue they are usually pricey, good things never came cheap!), food takes some time to arrive (if it is actually COOKED indian food takes some effort) and the two different dishes you ordered actually taste different (not just tomato puree overload). I wont recommend any here, it aint fair, but I might review other restaurants on UWS.

I've been eating from these folks since 2002 when they were at their other location. This location is even closer to my apartment, so I couldn't be happier. I love their chicken dildar (creamy sweet sauce with pineapple), with pouri and/or samossa vegetable to dip. For an extra treat, the mago lassi is a delicious drink. Their delivery has been prompt for me, and their service always attentive. The interior is decorated with warm lights and shades of red. It is especially nice on a Friday night, when you finally can relax and be stimulated visually, with good service, and great food.

We had a delivery mixup that delayed food for an hour. I was quite upset. When the food finally came, the delivery guy apologized and then the restaurant called to apologize and offered a free meal next time. There was a mistake, but they made up for it. Good business. Now the food - I am glad I did not decide to skip this place in the future out of principal. It was EXCELLENT! Tasty, fresh ingredients, just the right spice! I will definitely call on them again.

The food was excellent, my Mom and I ordered the dinner for two, which i found very delicious. The service was well because they filled my glass with water every time it was empty, and they arrived with the food on time. The owner seemed very happy and welcomed us warmly. On any special occasion i would visit this restaraunt.
