    Customer Service Issues

I placed an online order on their website for two chicken masalas. After waiting an hour, I called the restaurant and was placed on hold for nearly 10 minutes! I called again, slightly agitated by this point, and was met with considerably poor attitude only to be told my order had just left. 45 minutes later and no food. Quite frankly, this is the last time I order from here.

My first ever disappointing Indian meal

I went to Curry in a Hurry for a quick meal because I really wanted to eat Indian food, which I truly love. I ordered a combination platter with lamb curry, one of the vegetable curries (not sure which one), basmati rice, and naan. I also got a masala tea and a rasgulla for dessert. Upstairs, I used the dodgy-looking chutney bar to add some raita to my meal. When I started eating, my excitement soon disappeared. The lamb and vegetable curries were lacking in flavor and the rice (one of my favorite types) definitely didn't live up to the potential. On the plus side, the naan was delicious. As much as I tried, I didn't finish the main part of the meal because it felt more like a chore, which I have never said about Indian food before. Thus, I turned my attention to the raita, which was actually good, though I guess it's hard to mess up yogurt with vegetable bits. The culinary pain returned with dessert. The rasgulla actually tasted like a dried-out sponge! I know that it is supposed to have a sticky spongy texture to it (which is part of the fun of eating it), but actually tasting like a sponge is a bit much. The masala tea was also undrinkable and definitely had its ingredients out of the proportions that real Indian chai would have. It pained me to have to throw it away, but it was just that disappointing.

    Hit the spot!

My best friend and I visited for hte first time from the Bahamas. We were looking for something different and did our research prior to arriving to NY. I must say we were very pleased and impressed with our Curried Lamb & Naan. Adequately seasoned, spicy and tastey. We couldn't wait until the following night to have another "Curry Hurry" experience.

    Bad service

Service was terrible. Waiter was rude, slammed plates on the table, brought main course as we were still finishing our starter. Curry in a hurry indeed! Food was ok but a bit on the greasy side.

    Fulling, ok, indian food.

We ordered tandoori fish with rice, naan, curry daal, and veggie samosa. Not too expensive. It was 23 dollar. My friend and I split the meal.We ordered downstairs not knowing there were waiters upstairs who could take your order. We had tandoori fish which was a bit burnt on each piece.I had to season with salt and pepper because it was so dry. The naan is huge a little bit more chewy too.Curry Daal was good. The samosa tasted ok, just different. In summary ok indian food, very fulling.

    It was....

Nothing special, the food was alright, but the waiters (although cute) were there for no reason,we had to do everything ourselves... the the food was different from all the other Indian food I've eaten before. The Salmon tandoori was burnt though...

Excellent food, but doesn't always live up to its name

Went there with a friend visiting from Minnesota (we are both originally from the subcontinent). His food arrived quickly, but mine refused to show up for over 30 minutes. To their great credit, however, the manager personally apologized and added an extra naan to my order at no cost. The food and the atmosphere is excellent. Service is good with the exception of the delays in getting food sometimes. For that and only that I gave them a 4.5 for service (5.0 for everything else). Though I wish they lived up to their name and delivered quickly, I don't mind a bit of a wait if I can score an extra naan and get an apology from the very courteous manager.
