    Good food, poor service

I found the service to be consistently rude and unsatisfactory. The food counter is serviced by people who don't know the abc's of service. They are inattentive, distracted by some private discussion or disagreements behind the counter, sloppy and inept. If the food wasn't relatively good and cheap, this place would be shut down a long time ago. They definitely have an image problem

    If you're not a snob...

then this place is awesome. For 8.50 for two vegetarian dishes, rice, and nan, not to mention all you can eat rice pudding, salad, and chutneys, how can you really complain? Yes, downstairs where you order is not the prettiest place in the world. Who cares? You have to spend all of 5 minutes downstairs before going upstairs to eat you whining babies. The food is delicious, cheap, with huge portions and totally unpretentious. I LOVE IT.

Large portions, great for casual dining

I've been here a few times & they serve the largest portions of food than anywhere in the city (that I've been to). Me and my friends can never finish the food. We always order upstairs and the service is good & prompt. The food is good compared to Pongal down the street (went there & regretted it) and it's cheap. It's no classy place but it's good for casual eating. The lunch specials are a bargain too.

    Very greasy food!

I bought food from this place last week, and everything was so greasy! I got the lamb curry and rice - first of all, they give you more gravy than meat!. second, the fat was still intact on the meat! I had to take a knife and cut out the fat to eat the meat portions!!! they dont even take the time out to cut the meat properly. Then, everything is extra greasy, specially the gravy of the curries. After eating all that oil, I felt quiet queasy. I am never going back there again!!!
