The best authentic Indian food in midtown
Had dinner with a few friends and found this place well worth our time. The food was excellent and prepared with the perfect mix of spices. Very authentic, very reasonable, very satisfying. Everything from the appetizers, to the thin bread, to the entrees were perfect. The wait staff is ready to serve when you walk in the door. Don't miss this one if you are in midtown. Look past the frontage and construction on this side street.

They make you beg for Naan/Bread during Buffet.
Average food, atmosphere not bad. Staff over all friendly. While the quality and choice of items on buffet was not necessarily bad, they have a reluctance to serve Naan - like of it which I have not seen anywhere in North America. You have to request. You have to beg. After requesting it 3 times and waiting with a brimful plate for 10 minutes (I don't eat rice), two quarters (1/2 piece) of Naan bread was at last brought out for me and after that I had to ask for more and it seems that for each two pieces you have to put a separate request through teh chain. Needless to say the delay between the request and its economized and rationed fulfillment was enough to make the food go cold and kill my appetite.

I just got lunch from this place-chicken tikka masala-super delicious. I will definitely get take out from here again soon. The place looks nice inside and the guys working there are happy and friendly.

Warm, friendly service and Tasty Food
My family and I went to Curry Dreams last night, and the food was delicious. The waiter made several recommendations for each person and we were able to try several dishes we might have otherwise missed. My husband has been here for their lunch buffet as he works nearby, and we'd been wanting to go there for dinner. The samosas were delicious, and the grilled vegetable appetizer was abundant and tasty. You get alot for your money. My salmon tandoori was lovely and my husband's curry chicken was moist and flavorful with the basmati rice. The portions were nice, and as a result we had a great lunch with the leftovers today. The food was terrific, (I love the Nan!!) and the only negative thing I can say is that it took some time to get the food to the table...the dining room had very few customers, but their take out/delivery business seemed to be booming and that may have affected the kitchen timingso we spent a noticeable amount of time waiting for our entrees. However, it was definitely worth the wait and the owner, who came to our table, definitely has his customer's interests at heart. The decor is a little plain, (I guess I'd be expecting it to look more "Indian" with some of their beautiful colors) but the bathroom was immaculate and that's a really big indication of attention to detail in my opinion. I prefer a clean place over a high style place any day. I'm definitely going back and I'm bringing friends to share the food with me because it's abundant. :)

Rude & Hasty
My cousins and I decided together for lunch. The atmosphere was just okay. The food was lacking many traditional spices...there wasnt enough flavor. It was very unsatisfying. Not only was the food tasteless, but so was the service. As soon as we finished our dessert t the host decided to come over and tell us that we had stayed over 1/2 hour and we had to leave. Despite the fact that there were many tables available and there wasnt anyone waiting to be seated. They just rushed us out of the restaurant as soon as we paid the bill!! I told the host we very offended...and he told us if we came back for dinner we can sit longer!! I've never heard something so ridiculous!! or ever been so insulted before!! Thats the end of my curry dream!

Pretty Good
The buffet was pretty good- though it was funny that they had a different price on the menu and told us a different price. The service was good- the guy was nice, and the restaurant had an ok atmosphere though it felt a little rigid. I dont know if they online menu prices necessarily match their actual prices though so you should check that out.

Great experience
My husband and I really enjoy this restaurant. Great food, great price for Manhattan. The portions are super large, so it is perfect for sharing. Overall, I totally recommend Curry Dream!
