Changed Owners, Decreased Quality
I agree with the previous review. I only discovered Curly's about a year ago, and it was the happiest find! It was warm and friendly, and just inefficient enough that you felt like they weren't trying to rush you out the door - you could feel comfortable, like in a cozy neighborhood place. The place changed ownership, and the new owners raised the prices, reduced the portion sizes, and renamed the place 14 Carrot's - and yes, the misuse of an apostrophe is annoying! I thought it was kind of creepy, too, how the guy who is either the new manager or the owner now, whispered in a customer's ear, covering his mouth so I wouldn't hear, right in front of me. The whole thing was off. I used to love coming here, the prices were reasonable, and the portions generous. The waitstaff that used to be there is all gone (they all left with the previous owners), but the big problem is, so is the place that was Curly's. I'm really saddened by this, but after my last visit, I can't justify going back.

Changed name, owners, and quality
Went there today because I was in the mood for a greasy vegan brunch with sangria. I noticed that the sign outside was gone and found that the menus now call the place "14 Carrot's." Strike one for misuse of an apostrophe. I was glad to see that the brunch menu still existed, with all the usual fare, so I ordered a Slumberjack Breakfast with the extra $ for coffee and sangria. Strike two: the new owners don't have a license for alcohol yet, so I was offered "fresh" juice instead. Strike three: the OJ was by no means fresh. Tasted straight from the carton. Since we're already at three strikes, I'll just hurry on and note that my partner's artichoke frittata had nary and artichoke in sight, the garlic knots it was supposed to come with were actually dry toast, and the carrot ginger dressing tasted only of carrot. My dish was good, but there were just too many negatives to warrant heading back here.

What happened?
My husband and I ordered from Curly's yesterday and the food was just disappointing. What happened? I'm not going to lie- I never thought the food was fantastic (just decent veg food, really) but yesterday, the food was subpar. Firstly, the curly fries I uses to love have been replaced by soggy seasoned fries. Veg chicken parm sandwich was completely flavorless and hard to to chew, and my husband's salad was drowned in dressing. It was inedible. I'm so saddened by this. I remember being so happy having a nice veg place in the neighborhood, but now? Curly's, get your act together!

Disappointing, greasy food
Nothing more I really need to add. Found this place incredibly disappointing. Have a burrito and it was oily and gave me a stomach ache afterwards. Strangely enough, service, despite earlier postings, was the best thing about Curly's.

I love Curly's
I don't have any idea why people are complaining about Curly's, I love Curly's so so much! I just wish it was less popular so the wait for brunch wasn't so long on the weekend:P Seriously though, as a vegan I come here for brunch regularly. I love the brunch specials including frittatas and slumberjack breakfast yum. good food, fun vibe, and the staff is great, the owner is often there waiting tables and smiling and laughing. I don't know how anyone can complain, seriously. This is new york people.

Poorest service ever
Ordered delivery- told 25 minute wait 1.5 hours later food arrives (4 salads) all missing dressing, charged over the total amount, called back 30 minutes after ordering to be told we are out of "crab cakes" and to be compensated with a 25 minute wait for are dressings. Never eating here again or recommending this "great" restaurant to anyone!

Meh
My veggie burger, brown rice, and side salad tasted like they had been sitting in a can since 1990.
