Peanut Butter Heaven!
I am not the biggest dessert fan in the world but I do have a bit of a soft spot for peanut butter. that being said when i walked by the truck one day and saw that they had an "elvis" flavor i decided to give it a try. the peanut frosting was phenomenal!! since then ive been hooked, returning every time i get the chance in the hopes that they have a pb flavor...

So Very DISAPPOINTED
I live in the village and had been trying to find a moment to make my way over to the Cupcake Stop, for months now. All of my friends have been raving about the cupcakes, save for a few bad reviews here and there. I had my hopes up, because my favorite thing on the planet is cupcakes. I finally arrived today, and waited on a long line of at least 10 people in front of me, and a few behind me. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the guys in the truck work, and the line moves pretty fast. That was the high point of my cupcake experience at the Cupcake Stop. I looked over the wipe-board with the list of their flavors of the day - Chocolate Espresso, Cinnamon Roll, Pumpkin Spice, Red Velvet. I chose to buy a 6-pack and I got one of each of these flavors, plus two vanilla w/ vanilla. I rushed home so my boyfriend and I could do taste-tests of each cupcake, my mouth watering. First, we took out the cinnamon roll cupcake. It was hard as a rock! We couldn't tear it in half. We could barely cut it in half with a knife. Even the inside was hard, like it had been sitting around for days. And that was the cupcake I was most looking forward to. The chocolate espresso is alright, nothing special. The pumpkin spice was the one saving grace - quite good. The red velvet is not. And the vanilla-vanilla was way too sweet, with little flavor. I don't even love Magnolia or Billy's cupcakes - but I like them better than the Cupcake Stop, that's for sure. I would never return. If I was passing by the truck one day, and they happened to have Pumpkin Spice available, I might grab one. But probably not. Sad!

Seriously??
Is it possible that a Cupcake truck has the best cupcakes in NYC? I think so!! I had a Caramel Macchiato cupcake one day and a chocolate mousse during my next visit to the Cupcakestop and I was blown away. There is nothing like it in the city and now i'm addicted!!

Pleasant Surprise
I was genuinely surprised as to just how delicious the cupcakes on this truck were!

been craving them ever since
So my roommate and I tried the red velvet and coconut cupcakes this past weekend. We both LOVED them. For me, it solves my NYC cupcake dilemma: Crumbs bakery is waaaay too sweet and Magnolia bakery is on the dry side. These cupcakes were very moist and the degree of sweetness was perfect for my palate. Prices aren't bad for NYC, the people were nice. No complaints. Wished it moved around more so I wouldn't have to trek downtown during the week.
