Since I moved to Hells Kitchen about 17 years ago, I have been enjoying the cakes and cupcakes from here. The butter icing on the maple walnut is my fav. Everyone should visit this place. This is NYC at it's best.

I think the cupcake cafe has one of the most great quality cakes [very european, home made style product]...for everyone who expect a squashy soft cake with overly sweet frosting should stay at their supermarket brand I would kindly suggest...cause you didn't have the real thing yet. That's one of the reasons they have been around for over 20 [yes, that long] years and are highly recommended by people all over the world [as local artists and celebrities]. Well, beeing around for that long they didn't take credit cards for quite some time in the beginning BUT that situation is clearly outdated for many years...I know, since my company orders for years from overseas with creditcard. That much said...there is a lot of competition and I guess that's were some of this insights here come from [just a guess].Can't wait to go there on my next visit to the Staates around Christmas :-).ROCK ON CUPCAKE

I always viewed CC as dingy but quaint. Its been a while, but I visited the 42nd/9th location and wow! It was so dirty, an entire donut was sitting unnoticed on the floor. And it reeked... granted its a rainy day which might explain some dampness, but yuck. Even the bag that came w my cupcake was dirty! This is not how I remember CC. I havent eaten my cupcake yet, waiting for lunch time, I do know theyre on dry side, but still a nice indulgent treat. But the place is sorely in need of a good cleaning!

I ordered a cake here, not only did it looked beautiful, it was really yummy as well. Though the cakes are a bit pricy, it's totally worth it. I'm going to order my wedding cake from them! definitely loveeeed it!

Did not want to believe the bad reviews til i tasted it myself. Wanted to buy a cake because i was blown away by their floral designs. I figured a cupcake would be a good barometer. It tasted like a dense poundcake with chocolate frosting on it. Not moist at all. It was very dry like all the other reviews had said.

My fiance purchased a box of cupcakes for my 30th birthday party. He knows how much I usually rave about these cupcakes...when they are good, they are the best in NYC! But these cupcakes tasted old and dry, and they are expensive! I'm happy to pay the price when they're good, but this was so dissapointing, I don't know if I can trust them to go back. BTW, I suggest entering from the downtown direction to avoid an always shady area by the port authority.
