    East Village Deal

The price maybe right, but remember the old saying"you get what you pay for".All in all this is really not a bad deal. That is if the price is all that matters. The bread is a bit soggy, the free wine is barely 1/3 or less of a small cup.The food is definitely edible but nothing to rave about.Service is unpolished but not inattentive or rude. The price makes eating here worthwhile once in a while.

    Delicious food and great garden

Me and my friend had dinner there last Saturday. I didn't know they had a garden. I liked the scene. We ordered the seafood skewer, homemade pasta and sandyle...that's excellent. Pasta was so great...yummy. It was very busy and crowded; nevertheless, the wait staff was so friendly. Nice service, delish food, inexpensive price. It's worth more than 5 stars, but I can only give it just 5.

    a more than honest review

I work in Manhattan. My wife and her friend share the same birthday (same year too). Well they wanted to meet me in the city for dinner. I had never heard of Cucina. I was anxious that I would not enjoy the food. I arrived early. They had trouble getting through the tunnel. I was at the bar for an hour and a half. The bartender was great he offered the free mussels and he topped off the drinks. We had a conversation about his recent trip to South America. When the others arrived we were escorted through a narrow hallway to an area with a wonderful atrium. Everything was perfect the wine recommendations, the food and especially the service. I do not usually go online to rate places but I read the last review and I’m telling you if you have to choose between two place pick this one.

    Please read, honest rating

We made reservation for 9 to this place. When we got there the host said that we had to sit on a table meant for 8. He was rude and disrespectful. he move the table out a bit and said that they always sat 9 there. There was 2 extra seats to our right where no one was using it but he wouldn't allow us to use it. We then ask our waiter to move us to another section which he was willing to do. The food was really good and the price for the value was well worth it. As we were eating another group of 9 came in and they were given the same section that we had and the extra 2 seats. Everything else went well for my friend bday but the host ruined it in my opinion. I know my friend enjoy herself because of the food but i personally would never come here again. If you had to decide between two places, pick the other one. However, it's not a bad place to eat.

    Can Find better

We had an absolutely average experience at dinner. The restaurant is nice and homey but the food is mediocre at best. The calamari was clearly served out of a frozen package, the pastas were edible, dessert was the highlight of the meal. Our waiter seemed unhappy to be there and actually took away from our experience.

    Hidden in the East Village

This is a great little place hidden in the Village. I have been there twice and I am impressed with the quality of their food. The atmosphere is very laid back and they play 60-70s music. A nice wine selection and the waiters are knowledgeable about the wines available by the glass. You should try it!
