Just OK
My friend praised this place and he usually has good taste. I decided while in the area I'd give it a try. I tried 4 cupcakes...they were just O.K. Nothing to make me want to go back. The cake was a little dry, except the carrot cupcake. The frosting on all of them were a little too sweet but frosting was the tastiest thing on the cupcake. My friend agrees with that, but he likes it that way. Bland cake and really sweet frosting. I've had better so I wont be paying that much for a cupcake when I can get a better one cheaper.

Crumb-ly Intoxication
A co-worker treated me to an Egg-Nog cupcake from CRUMBS on west 42 St...and I have to say that it surpassed a night of hot sex...trust!! I treat myself to a gift from this shop once in a while. I love the blueberry, pumpkin, and chocolate cupcakes...an aurora borealis of flavor!

Nothing special.
Crumbs has a sign out front that states it was Voted Best Cupcake in NYC. My sister and I bought the sampler: several mini-cupcakes of the best sellers. Dry cake and disappointing frosting. Cost $18, too, which would have been totally worth it if the taste had been there.

at least they look nice...
The cupcakes at Crumbs are beautiful, but that's about it. I have went 4 times because of the convenient location and the hopes that it would be better, but every time the cupcakes were very dry, the icing was just so-so, and the salesgirls were rude.

The cupcakes look better than they taste
This is the Cold Stone Creamery of cupcake franchises: in other words, the cupcakes look better than they taste. But I will say this much, their Black & White cookie was phenomenal. The White part was actually better than the Black part and I happen to be a chocoholic! The Black part was very good, but the White part was terrific.

Have Had Better
I heard so much about this place from a friend that I finally decided to try it. My parents live in West Monroe, LA and there is a cupcake place there that is amazing, "Curls Cupcakes." Sorry Crumbs, but I was left majory unsatisfied. You are overshadowed by a cupcake place in small town Louisiana! That is sad! I had the Devil's Dog cupcake which I found to be very dry! Perhaps, as I have heard from others, Crumbs has some cupcakes that are fantastic and others that are not so much. I may consider trying it again but the customer service did not give me much encouragement in coming back. The women behind the counter were extremely apathetic. I felt like I was at a fast food drive-thru. The shop is small and cute but I was still very disappointed. Not worth 3.50.

Best Buttercream Cupcakes Ever
I have tried most cupcakes in Manhattana and Crumbs is by far the best. The buttercream topping is the key. The ones without that buttercream don't shine. It is pricey, but it is the best. At Magnolia I feel Betty Crocker and I can make these, but at Crumbs I know this is a special dessert. So it is either Skinny Cow for dessert or a Crumbs cupcake. Extreme calorie range, but worth it.
